“Capesthorne Hall is built in brick with ashlar dressings and slate roofs, and is a Grade II-listed building. Capesthorne Hall has a long entrance front consisting of a three-storey central block with lateral wings and two four-storey turrets. On each side, there are two-story service blocks that stick out, creating a three-sided entrance courtyard. A particularly notable listed structure designed by William Smith on the grounds is contemporary with the hall and elaborate gate piers. Today, the Bromley-Davenport family privately owns the hall, chapel & grounds. Capesthorne Hall is open to the public at advertised times and is used for special events. They are also available to be hired for purposes such as weddings and corporate events.

“Macclesfield Cemetery originated on 17 May 1866 and consisted of 68 acres (28 ha) of land, including gardens of remembrance and cemetery walks, which occur three times a year. This cemetery is administered by the Cemetery Lodge Office. Macclesfield Cemetery has a wealth of historical interest. The site contains three chapels and terrace walks overlooking a stream and examples of monumental stone masonry. Macclesfield Crematorium is located within the grounds, and the cemetery lodge is on Prestbury Road. There are two car parks within the cemetery, located on either side of the building.

2025 Update: Macclesfield Cemetery provide disabled parking for visitors situated close to the crematorium.”

We would 5 recommend Capesthorne Hall as a wedding venue. When my husband and I first visited we knew this was the venue for us. We loved the mix of the stately hall and more modern Lakeside Wing. The grounds are stunning and there are so many great spots for photos (see attached)! The events team were fabulous and know exactly what they are doing. We initially met Lucy and later Lynn, both were lovely and very communicative. You could tell the team are very experienced at coordinating weddings and we felt very relaxed during the run up and on the big day itself. They really do go above and beyond and think of everything. We also used the on-site accommodation which is done up to a high standard and reasonably priced. Our guests loved staying there and it was great to sit by the lake and debrief with everyone in the morning. Thank you so much to the whole team!

Capesthorne was the perfect venue for our wedding. We had the lakeside marquee and it suited our every need. From viewing the venue right through to our wedding day the staff at Capesthorne were nothing but lovely to us, and it always felt like they had everything under control. There was no need for us to worry. Lucy in particular was always available for us to contact and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our event run so smoothly and it was all down to Lucy and the team. The accommodation at Capesthorne was something that set them apart from other venues and the ability to have the carriage house the night before the wedding made a big difference to our day. We really couldn’t say thank you enough for everything.

Capesthorne Hall and gardens are a hidden gem! We did a cheeky stay at the caravan park for a few days with our furry friends. Lovely woodland walk and running through trails.The facilities are clean and the pitches are well spaced with plenty of room. We will definitely return.

TOWN HALL MACCLESFIELD REVIEWS

The work included a new council chamber, the old one being converted into committee rooms, and a new facade complete with Ionic columns. Civil and structural engineering input focused on the modification and construction works.

Very nice town nearly in my house every thing is to much cheap and we are enjoy to this place as well.

MACCLESFIELD CEMETERY REVIEWS

We visited David's family to place flowers. The cemetery is by a park with a Sainsbury's close by. This cemetery is a serene and lovely resting place.

Peaceful place to pay your respects, I visit Ian Curtis every now and again. One of the powerful moment in our trip to England was visiting a Curtis grave.

I know it's a cemmetry but it's a joined to the park, which makes it accessible, calm and peaceful. Not a morbid scary place.
