“Tegg's Nose Country Park has a meadow, moor, and woodland area with rich wildlife centred around a 380-meter-high hill for walking and cycling. They offer recreational facilities such as sporting fields and a large children's playground. The park is also a venue for various special occasions, concerts, and festivals. Experience Cheshire's wild hill country, where rock formations dominate the landscape. The car park provides an excellent base for numerous walks, and many events are held at the visitor centre throughout the year. Tegg's Nose Country Park's Tea Room is open from Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Monday.

“West Park is a great skate park area for toddlers to hone their scooters or balance bikes, right up to grown-ups doing jumps. This is a delightful 15-acre community park located in Macclesfield. West Park features a children's playground, toddler play area, bowling green, barbecue area, café, museum, ornamental gardens, picnic area, and skate park. The park is perfect for kids, with ample play space, a skate park, and a bike area. West Park is famous for residents enjoying a serene break or fresh air. The park's parking is located at the end of the drive on the right-hand side of the main entrance on Prestbury Road.

2025 Update: The park is Grade II listed in Historic England's Register of Parks and Gardens.”

“South Park features 44 acres of parkland for families to enjoy in Macclesfield. They have a 659 sqm concrete skate/BMX bowl plaza, two bowling greens, a basketball hoop, an 18-hole pitch, and a bandstand. Visitors are very friendly and respectful of dog etiquette. There is plenty of open space to walk dogs, have picnics, and play ball games. South Park offers fun for all ages, including a pond, nine tennis courts, a multi-use ball court, and two bowling greens. The park has five full-size macadam tennis courts available for the public throughout the year. Courts can be booked through the booking tab to make reserving a court easy.

2025 Update: South Park provides free car parking. The park also has toilets, which are available when gardeners are on site.”

TEGG'S NOSE COUNTRY PARK REVIEWS

Lovely place, I'm glad we paid here a visit. We were passing through on our way down south and stopped for a short walk here. It cost us £1 to park in the car park for an hour. We walked to the old quarry equipment and to the summit, creating a lovely, short circular walk. Interesting place with plenty of information boards about the quarry equipment. There are plenty of stones scribed with Teggs Nose Country Park and similar. The country park seems really well looked after, and the visitor centre, though small, was worth a visit. There are also a few trails going through the country park, which can be followed, a milestone on the road outside the car park and a few viewfinders up on the high points of the hill. I'd recommend visiting here. Ideal for short walks, dog walks, and for walks with children.

A lovely place with many walking options and outstanding views down over the Cheshire plain. There is also the historic interest of the mining operations and geology with interesting things to read about on the plaques along the route. The car park is often busy on a nice day but reasonably priced at £3 for up to 10 hours. You can use the 'Paybyphone' website or app to pay for parking if you don't have cash on you. There's also a cafe and toilets there.

Nice and clean walking loops, with excellent views. Not covered in dog mess and dumped water bottles. Wasn't very busy, or expensive to park at the cafe car park. Access to the reservoirs from the high views and interesting signage to learn about the area and the distant sights.

Lovely well kept park with plenty to offer different age groups. I walk my dog in here while my husband does a Sainsbury's shop. There's a lovely little cafe with toilets, bowling green, memorial gardens, children's play park and skater/scooter section plus large areas of grass. There's plenty of picnic benches and standard benches. Although there are steps there are separate paths suitable for bicycles. They recently replaced the entrance gate from Sainsbury's car park with a wider one making it more accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

A really nice park for all the family. There is a great play park for the kids. Directly opposite the kids park there is a cafe which serves quick snaks and coffee to a pleasant sit down lunch. Food is really good. Nice skate and bike park (main area my daughter and her friend end up). Good walks around the park, nice area for dog walking (lots of squirrels to be mindful of though). Limited parking but there are areas for packing around the park area.

Beautifully kept big park with a variety of interesting areas. Great for kids, dogs, peaceful sits, picnic’s (would be nice to have some picnic benches scattered around though for families to gather). Lovely wild flower areas and amazing old mature trees. Just moved to Macclesfield and feel very lucky to have such a gorgeous area close by. Really lovely atmosphere too.

A clean an tidy park suitable for kids and dog walkers ,with 2 separate play areas ,tennis courts ,and other activities dotted around the park and a lovely pond with good points for feeding the ducks and swans.

Beautiful park for walking the dog or taking kids. Folks are very friendly and respectful of dog etiquette. Good amount of open space as well nice shady parts for days such as today.

South Park is a nice park to go for a walk around after visiting the Palace, very popular with dog walkers, a few items to check out and well maintained.
