Cambusnethan House is renowned as a masterpiece of Priory architecture and stands as one of the last grand residences in the upper Clyde Valley. It was constructed on the 17th-century Cambusnethan House site, designed as a mock Priory for the Lockhart of Castlehill family, set within extensive and picturesque grounds. The house comprises two and three storeys, featuring turrets at each corner, a three-storey bow in the west facade, and an imposing square porch. In the 1970s, it was occasionally used for mock medieval banquets, but more recently, such activities have become illegal. The house includes a gabled central block and flanking wings with octagonal corner towers. Its striking presence can be admired across the valley, particularly when it glistens in the sunlight. Exploring the surrounding villages and taking leisurely walks is a delightful way to appreciate the area.

CAMBUSNETHAN HOUSE REVIEWS
I highly recommend visiting this medieval ruin. The roads aren't the best near it, but you can walk to it in 12mins, from the main road to the north. The Facebook group, Friends of Cambusnethan Priory, have done an amazing job keeping it from being to over grown with scrubs and Ivy.
This must have been a remarkable house in its day. It's a shame it's fallen into ruin. Absolutely stunning features all around. The road down has loads of pit holes, so be careful and go slowly.
This place was absolutely amazing to explore and me and others had fun inside what's left of the priory.

AIRDRIE TOWN HALL REVIEWS
Nice big town hall, very light and airy inside. We were here for covid jabs, really well organised, quick to be seen and plenty of friendly staff. For parking we parked round the corner at farmfoods, that was a short walk. You can park out the front if you need to but parking at the front is limited so best left to those that need it.
Went with my wife today for covid and flu boosters ,we're in and out in no time and the staff on duty were very friendly and efficient. Its the first time we've not had to wait ages,to be seen .Excellent service from the nurse's involved.
Lovely old hall and a great venue for music, theatre and covid jags ????????????

Old Monkland Cemetery is one of the famous cemeteries in North Lanarkshire. The Cemetery was established in 1875 and spans 10.95 hectares, and its vast expanse ensures it is easily recognisable from the M8. Approximately 220 burials occur annually, making it a substantial resting place for nearly 50,000 graves. All burial plots within this cemetery follow a lawn-style layout, and they can only be acquired at the time of burial, subject to space availability. The purchase of burial plots grants the holder certain rights, but no transfer of land ownership is involved. Old Monkland Cemetery provides amenities such as car parking and a convenient visitor walk-through path.

OLD MONKLAND CEMETERY REVIEWS
A very large well kept cemetery. You can drive in and park the car on the pathways. The staff there were very helpful and if you know the section and grave number someone will take you straight to it....you'll never find it otherwise.
great place for picnic. zombies were only a very minimal threat, will chained up. would recommend.
It's fun to see all the old headstones. They are mixed in with some new ones.
