“Lake Meadows Park hosts various events and concerts annually, including Billericay Fireworks and Parkrun. Lake Meadows Park was owned by the Spitty family in the 19th century. The park covers 40 acres of parkland and provides a community facility for residents and visitors alike. Lake Meadows Park features a fishing lake, play area, skate park, swimming pool, bowling green, tennis courts, and crazy golf. Additionally, Lake Meadows Park features accessible equipment and multiple play zones designed for people of all abilities. The public events hosted by the Lake Meadows Park can hold up to 5,000 people.

2025 Update: Lake Meadows Park have a group of about 25 volunteers to take care of plenty of areas, as well as the main garden area. Entry to the tennis court in Lake Meadows Park is through entering the code into the keypad. This will be on a first-come basis.”

WAT TYLER COUNTRY PARK REVIEWS

I love this country park. I've been visiting here since I was a little girl with my mum and then schools as I grew. It has a rich historic background which is incredibly interesting and I have recently introduced my children to its wonder. You can follow the path around the perimeter for a nice comfortable stroll and look out across the creeks, walk through the green areas to discover random statues and historic buildings or be more adventurous and walk through the trees and brush. There's the visitors centre and play area to visit as well as the green museum. This place has such a place in my heart and I strongly recommend a visit.

Loved being there this morning. Lovely walks with our 2 dogs, met so many other great dog owners. Walked down to the boatyard and marina, then our6 year old granddaughter had a fab time in the playpark with her mum and dad. Lots of sitting areas near the drink/snack bar. Would have liked drinking stations for the woofers! A great morning.

Went here with our dog ,he really enjoyed the walk along the different routes excellent place for long dog walks.a really big area where we sat down in the shade and had some food & drinks ,along with quite a few others having a picnic aswell.

LAKE MEADOWS PARK REVIEWS

Lovely park to wander around especially around the lake area. There are plenty of benches around all sides of the lake to sit down and watch the dukes or have lunch/snack over-looking the lake. Lots of paths to explore. Café, toilets and play-area not far from the Lake. We visited in May whilst on a long walk around the area and were delighted to find lots of baby ducks around the lake area – so cute. Well worth a visit as a couple or family.

I took the kids (3 and 1) to the playground by the cafe in the park and loved it. Lots of play equipment. Really clean and well maintained. The playground is gated with 2 entrances. There is a car park right next to it and the cafe is less than 2 min walk (unfortunately it was closed yesterday so didn't go in) would definitely come again.

Again one of the beautiful parks in the UK, it is really peaceful as well. There's a lake and also cafe inside(they were only accepting cash during our visit so keep your cash handy). I am not sure about the name of the flowers but they are beautiful too.

GLOUCESTER PARK REVIEWS

This is a large park in Basildon. It’s beautiful with a nice lake. You can put your tent around the lake and have relaxing. There are enough walking trails all over the park and little hills to climb with children. Nice place for dog walking, playing and cycling. Has enough parking slots. Need some modifications, cleaning and arrangements for to become a perfect park.

My favourite place in Basildon. From when I move away from here, I will miss it for the rest of my life. It helped me to survive Covid, and other personal problems just by giving me the opportunity to get a nice walk or a jog around. The footpaths are uneven, and if it rains a lot then a big part of the park becomes waterlogged making it impossible to walk around the whole park but it will be my forever loved place. I know I am a bit sentimental.

A lovely large open space with fishing lake and well kept paths, the best two entry points for wheelchairs would be the Basildon sporting village car park or the town centre via Broadhurst place, a residential estate 5 minutes from the town centre.
