3 Best Parks in Charnwood, UK

Been for a lovely walk with the dogs today. To say this is on my door step and never been before is crazy. There is a decent tarmac path around the walk so there is no need to have to walk on the grass unless you want to (we did). Great views of the surrounding area and there is a dial on a plinth which explains what is in which direction. Met loads of dogs which my two loved and made new friends. Plenty of dog poo bins around. Parked in the upper car park and spent around two hours walking here, parking is paid for on way out by card or cash. Will be back again with the dogs soon.

We had a great day out here. The kids loved building dens, the park, and walking up the hill. It was a great place to enjoy some peace in nature. Good areas for picnics. Parking was not a problem- plenty of spaces. We went during school holidays. Picnic area: Spacious picnic area. Take your rubbish home with you as there are no bins, so be prepared with a bin bag if you need one.

Always a great place to go for a walk. You'll pass through woodland and then emerge onto Beacon Hill, with fantastic views of the local area whilst surrounded by highland cattle. There's a cafe onsite, and usually an ice cream van. There can be queues for the parking ticket machine.

Excellent public park, with adequate parking (public carpark). Roadside parking is just about impossible, so don't waste your time looking for it in the one-way system. A pretty little brook, with mature willow trees, runs along one edge with a small weir and what was clearly a mill in days gone past. The park itself comprises of a small orchard (only a few actual fruit trees remain, the rest are the aforementioned willows, some oaks and various other trees), adjacent to the orchard is a large children's play area (however some of the contraptions may take youngsters by surprise as they move/rotate which may result in minor injury - but nothing that should be of any great concern under supervision), beyond the play area is a large open flat grassy area.

A beautiful park area with a Brook and water wildlife. There is also a small playground for children under the age of 8 as well as an area for older children. There is also a skateboarding area with ramps and plenty of picnic benches, seats and grass. Lots for families to enjoy in the warm weather.

Lovely little park with playgrounds for big and little kids, skateboard ramps, basketball court, zip wire and a pleasant stream trickling by. Lif your need refreshment, there is even a tearoom next to the library next door. Well worth a visit.
