This is a lovely museum with some history of the fishing and ship building industries in the local area, as well as a collection of very old coins and artifacts. It's very well done and quite engaging, with a film that explains some local history. The star of the show for me was the series of black and white photographs of fishermen and people from the canals. I am assured that a proper exhibition is on its way.

Really good afternoon out with children. Lots of history of Lancaster & Morecambe Bay area, the boats, trade & disasters. Information on Viking & other silver hoards found locally, plenty of activities. Free to local residents, limited on-road parking. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic time discovering the history of Lancaster's relationship with the sea, including the wider bay area, especially loved the hoardes of coins and other objects from the locality. Well worth a visit, everything is well presented and well kept and very informative.

Absolutely stunning gardens. Clearly very well tended and definitely worth a visit; they're only open to the public one Sunday per month, though. I love that the cake stand is run by a hospice. Inspired by the beautiful surroundings, I bought a couple of plants from here (I think the plant stall may be run by the hospice too) and they are thriving in my garden, providing a wonderful memento of Gresgarth. In between exploring the gardens, we had a picnic by the lake and were visited by some curious chickens, which my friend's little boy loved to watch mud bathing. The garden rooms are great for inspiration, and the wooded trail makes you feel as though you're in an entirely secluded forest. I envy the owners of this estate. Just gorgeous!

Volunteered here to raise money for St. John's Hospice in Lancaster so only briefly walked round the gardens, but ..... WOW! These gardens are truly amazing. Absolutely beautiful and the smell? Not sure which flowers they came from but I felt I'd been transported to somewhere magical! Will definitely go back when I'll have more time.

Lovely garden and arboretum, there's usually a cake and coffee stand in the large potting shed area. I love the fact that many of the trees have the year they were planted, makes you realise how quickly some species can grow. Overall, a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon.
