“Ryelands Park provides various leisure and recreation activities for participants of all ages and abilities. The park features five football pitches and all-weather multi-use areas for tennis, basketball, as well as an accessible play area and changing facilities. The park contains a large Grade II listed historic house in the centre. Ryelands Park offers amenities for various people and age groups. The park also has exercise equipment for adults to access. Some features include a BMX track, an adult exercise area, a community garden, and a café. Ryelands Park has ample parking on site. They have a wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park.

At one end of the park is a line of quarter pipes, and a long flat bank at the other. Lancaster Skatepark has wheelchair access and ample parking areas.”

Have to say.. Williamson Park.. great day out for the kids and the views were unreal. Don’t get me wrong.. the kids will probably start to complain during the walk as it’s very hilly. However, it’s still 100% worth going. The two playgrounds were clean and tidy. The park itself was immaculate also. I suggest taking a picnic as we went to order food at 3pm, but unfortunately the kitchen had closed. I noticed there was a lot of dog walkers and I have to say.. I didn’t find any dog feces on the park, or along the paths when walking around. They also have a little water fountin for the dogs at the cafe on top of the hill. Grounds keepers always lurking around so if you need any help then feel free to ask them. They seemed lovely as every one of them waved. I just hope some of my pictures do it justice. Definitely worth another visit again when we have more sunshine.

A beautiful huge park located at the top of the town overlooking Lancaster and the surrounding area. The whole place is genuinely stunning and always worth the walk up the hill. The grounds and gardens are lovely to walk around and the Ashton memorial in the middle is breathtaking. Children of all ages are catered for with different play areas and if that's not enough, there's the butterfly house and café.

Brilliant park with a butterfly garden and mini zoo. The Cafe at the Pavilion offered a selection of lunch options. The hilltop Ashton Memorial offers fabulous views. A children’s playground kept the kids entertained and plenty of walking routes to explore. A great family day out.

RYELANDS PARK REVIEWS

Great open green space where you can walk your dog, let the children run around, or play in the well equipped play area which has seating and picnic tables. There is also some exercise equipment for adults that is free to use. They occasionally have fun fairs, car boots even companion dog shows on the grass areas and yet there is still plenty of grassed areas to use for other things. There is ample parking on site. It is close to Lancaster.

A great place to go for a walk with the dog . They have a car boot sale on bank holiday in August. They use to have a band stand but the council said it was too small so took it down. There is a council building in the park, but I have no idea what goes on in there. A couple of football teams play there at the weekend.

This park is amazing it can be like your walking and sometimes people will smile at u and u will think what a nice place to live around and watching kids having the best time of there life makes my heart melt lovely park I enjoy it.

LANCASTER SKATEPARK REVIEWS

The children love this park and the beauty of it is there are benches overlooking the river Lune so parents if they wish can sit whilst their children have fun skateboarding.

My children quite enjoy going there the older kids have always made them welcome.

Friendly atmosphere, all ages. Good view of castle, lune and bridges. Nice place for fresh air.
