Mompesson House is an elegant 18th-century house listed as a Grade I building and has been under the care of the National Trust since 1975. The house, built at the end of the 17th century, showcases the traditional Queen Anne style with its Chilmark stone façade. A brick-designed service building on the site, initially closed in 1625, adds to its historical charm. Inside, Mompesson House features a remarkable collection of 18th-century drinking glasses and a series of ceramics by Bessemer-Wright, endowed by Mrs Adam Smith. Visitors can also enjoy the garden tea room, which offers indoor and outdoor seating. Mompesson House is an ideal destination for families to explore and experience history together.
