“Southend Central Museum features local natural history exhibitions and archaeological artefacts. “Cliffs Pavilion has built performing arts venues that host a range of live performances in two mid-sized venues. Cliffs Pavilion presents more than 300 performances yearly, offering a wide range of live entertainment, including ballet, opera, and classical music. The performing arts venue has a stall seating area and flat-floor access to the bar. Cliffs Pavilion features an infrared loop system for hearing assistance and has designated areas for wheelchair users within the regular stall seating, with free seats for companions/helpers. The performing arts venue also has a Pavilion restaurant and accessible toilet facilities.

SEALIFE ADVENTURE REVIEWS

There is much more to see than we thought. Takes around 1 hour or so to get all the way round. Recommend that you go around twice, and you'll see things that you may have missed previously. Rescued monkeys are sweet. Pangea area is small, but very good. Definitely worth visiting, book in advance and save a couple of pounds per person.

Me and my partner had such an amazing time here, loads of animals and insects to see, we didn’t realise how much was actually here! We definitely loved coming here and for the price you can’t go wrong, we loved every minute of it and the staff were just amazing and was happy to answer our curious questions.

A real educational treat for young children. We were amazed at the variety of animals. We had a fantastic and fun time, all for a small price, also with discounts. All very clean and well maintained, animals very happy. A must see.

SOUTHEND CENTRAL MUSEUM REVIEWS

A fascinating museum covering Roman and medieval Southend, Victorian and contemporary displays, and a planetarium. The tours of the Roman exhibit are really interesting and the guide was great. The two highlights are the Saxon burial mound excavation, which is simply amazing. The wealth of finds is stunning and the condition of some of them is incredible! The planetarium is also well worth a look. The guide was knowledgeable and really made the experience memorable. The staff were great and a real asset to the museum. They made us feel really welcome, shared a wealth of knowledge, and even gave us some recommendations for other places to visit.

Free Cabinet of Curiosities with plenty of antiquities and Victorian collectables. Small fee to the Planetarium show (roughly 1 hour) with a talk by a very knowledgeable guide. Well worth the visit.

Such an educational visit, we visited the museum and planetarium and both were really immersive and educational. Looks like they are installing a new exhibition when we visited as the Ecko area was cordoned off.

CLIFFS PAVILION REVIEWS

A great venue in Westcliffe. Popular for smaller gigs & pantos etc All seats have a good view of the stage. Sound & lighting good. Close to the seafront & mainline station plus there is a car park practically next door. Also a short walk from Southend on Sea. Good size bar with seating.

Great theatre near the seafront where legends and icons perform. Most events are sensibly priced and are mixture of seating and standing tickets dependant on category. Always a good vibe and enjoyable evening. Nice to get there a bit early and have a drink and sit upstairs looking out to sea....

This art deco styled arts centre sits above the Thames estuary at Southend. Scheduled for a refurb, it's auditorium seats some 1600 souls. Here for a concert, sounds good.
