Five Sisters Zoo is a popular visit, opened to the public in 2005. At the time of its opening, the zoo featured a small collection of rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, and pigs. Five Sisters Zoo features an exciting collection of over 160 species of mammals, birds, and reptiles. The staff and volunteers maintain high standards of animal care and health. Visitors have plenty to see and do. They can participate in one of the three regular handling sessions and feed the lemurs for a closer encounter. The keepers regularly hold informative talks that coincide with the feeding times of several animals. Five Sisters Zoo features many new areas, including a bird aviary walk, a wallaby enclosure, meerkats, cranes, and a wide enclosure for giant tortoises.

2025 Update: Five Sisters Zoo is run by Brian and Shirley Curran, along with their family and a dedicated team of staff, including zookeepers, office workers, ground staff, ticket desk, soft play, and cafe staff.
