“Five Sisters Zoo is a popular visit opened to the public in 2005. At the time of its opening, the zoo featured a small collection of rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, and pigs. Five Sisters Zoo features an exciting collection of over 165 species of mammals, birds, and reptiles. The staff and volunteers maintain high standards of animal care and health. Visitors have plenty to see and do. They can participate in one of the three regular handling sessions and feed the lemurs for a closer encounter. The zoo has a large indoor reptile house featuring more than 40 species and a petting area. The keepers regularly hold informative talks that coincide with the feeding times of several animals. Five Sisters Zoo features many new areas, including a bird aviary walk, a wallaby enclosure, meerkats, cranes, and a wide enclosure for giant tortoises. Children under three can enjoy the zoo free of charge.”
