MACDONALD HOUSTOUN HOUSE REVIEWS

A good hotel in a gorgeous setting. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. Rooms are a little old-ish style but that's part of the charm. Very different from a typical hotel layout - which is also a good relief from the ordinary. It's about 15 mins from the airport and 25 or so from Edinburgh. Service is excellent and very helpful. Breakfast and lunch/dinner was good but not as great as the hotel itself.

Excellent venue for a wedding. It is a quite area off the road in a town called Uphall. The hotel staff was quite friendly and helped us even in the late hours. The area outside the venue was a good place to take pictures for friends and family. They have ample and good parking for a large wedding.

Lovely hotel in a wonderful setting. Everything was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Great stay, thanks.

Nice clean rooms, evening meal was good. The buffet style breakfast by Cris and Poagie was very nice and much better than most places that serve buffet style. The team James, Ryan and Anna were very helpfull in letting me know where everything was located. Would stay again if in the area.

Providing cover for drop-in session, so was unsure where to go and met with James, who escorted me to the room and advised re the set-up. I had arrived very early and he was very pleasant, mannerable and made sure that I was comfortable. Excellent service, and nice welcome.

Pepe was amazing and served us respectfully, Lisa has an inspiring smile and she doesn't hesitate to serve everyone the best way that possible. Thanks for the entire team all the way from the kitchen to the restaurant. My appreciation

Was a pleasant stay! Me and my partner stayed here for the night and was welcomed by a lovely receptionist who was smiley as well as happy to accommodate to our needs. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom given had everything we needed and a good amount of towels which we appreciated.we decided to get the breakfast in the morning and there was a wide range of food to choose I opted for a full fry up and was cooked nicely not too greasy! as well as lovely coffee! It was easy to access and there is a town with many shops and cafes nearby also.

Stayed there three days. By mistake I left my gold chain in my room and checked out. I remember about it only that evening and I called to the reception. The staff was so kind and helpful. They found my chain in room and left that in reception. I went there and got the chain. Thank you so much for Ms. ELLIE and Ms.AIMY for the wonderful service.

Teresa (breakfast hostess) was so kind and gave excellent advice. Service was very good all around. The rooms are very inexpensive and the train station to Edinburgh is right down the road.
