THE CROWN & ANCHOR REVIEWS

As a group of 4 we had lunch today. My sister and I had a dish from the new menu, Belly pork served on a bed of pork cassoulet with green beans. What a fabulous meal! Our husbands had the chicken, leek and bacon pie and battered fish and chips. We finished with sticky toffee puds and a cheesecake . All the food was fabulous and the service was second to none. Well done Crown and Anchor.

Beautiful food, well presented and very tasty, attentive staff and fair prices on both food and drink. We have booked to go again following our first visit.

We chose from the lunch club menu and the food was delicious and the portion sizes were just right. Two empty plates went back to the kitchen. The staff were friendly, efficient, and very welcoming. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere only because it was quiet at the end we sat at.

OLD NO7 BARNSLEY REVIEWS

My band played a gig there. Staff were exceptional, especially young Char on the downstairs bar, although Martin and Shauna deserve a mention because they're mint. The shandy was nice, and the atmosphere downstairs was electric. It might have been because we were brilliant. Can't wait to play again or visit as a punter soon.

Great bar in the town centre, this was my 2nd visit. Good choice of real ales and good banter with the happy, chatty barman! During my Easter Monday visit the football scores were being shown on a large TV. I will visit again in the future!! Cheers.

Nice long bar with fantastic ale on tap. Was getting busier as we left, but had a really good atmosphere. Thanks for hosting us.

THE TALBOT INN REVIEWS

We went to the talbot restaurant for the 8 course tasting menu, last night and had an amazing experience!! The food was as high a standard as any top restaurant in a big city. There was a great variety of dishes and we enjoyed them all. We decided to have the pairing wine option, which added to the experience. Tavy, the wine expert. Was extremely knowledgeable about all the wines and how they complemented the dishes. What made the evening so special were the staff. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were looked after. All the waitresses were extremely professional and told us about each dish. I will definitely be returning.

Fantastic food, I tried pigeon for my starter and it was served with creamy mushrooms which was great. Very nice sirloin roast dinner, and one they best deserts I’ve ever had: raspberry blondie bites sundae with lemon sorbet. Great service too, very warm atmosphere and cosy interior.

Me and my partner went for a meal and had arancini for starter, the mushroom pie and steak for our mains, and a dessert cocktail afterwards. All was absolutely lovely and great service, looking forward to going again.
