THE SHIP INN REVIEWS

Our first visit to The Ship this evening, I have to say I have no idea why it's taken me so long to try this place. Lots of people have recommended it and they have every right to, it's a gem. The menu is small but adequate, offering something for every taste. I had chilli and lime jumbo prawns to start followed by steak and ale pie. It was a REAL pie too, short crust pastry just as it should be. Service was excellent, provided by Eva who does everything except cook food it seemed. Can't wait to go back and this time, sample the ales.

What a lovely pub, restaurant. Was looked after by very welcoming and professional young lady. The environment is nice with some quirky decor, with nice music in the back ground. We had a Halibut and Chicken kebab dinners, both were excellent quality and on the larger size potions, and with five drinks, come to £64. Small enclosed garden, from the car park on the right.

Our first visit to the Ship Inn, and we will be back. A lovely old pub, but very up together, super smart! Food was lovely and the service was excellent.

PAPAS REVIEWS

Visited today (25.08) Restaurant busy as expected on a bank holiday weekend, so pleased we booked a table. Ordered large haddock and chips, plus the sizzling salmon, mushy peas and curry sauce. Haddock was a good size, crispy light batter and not greasy, tasted good, plus chips really tasty too. Unfortunately the sizzling salmon wasn't a sizzling experience, very little vegetables and skillet full of oily liquid. However, we mentioned this to our server "Bailey" who was fantastic, meal replaced with extra chips and free drinks, so cannot fault the customer service. We will come back again and thanks to Bailey .

Although very busy, as I ate at 3.30pm, the staff and service was admirably efficient. The senior deal had a small haddock but enjoyably large enough. I chose icecream as the dessert and its presentation equalled any high end restaurant. Well done, Papas.

Visiting from Montreal and had one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The service was amazing and the price was very reasonable. As a matter of fact, I’ve just finished my dinner and couldn’t wait to leave them a review. As an added bonus, judging from the background music, they are massive Coldplay fans.

FIGS REVIEWS

A great little find amongst alot of very mediocre restaurants and cafe/bars in area. Really lovely welcoming staff. Great selection of good wines. We had a lovely table in the window and the atmosphere was upmarket, comfortable, good quality. The menu was varied enough to suit our party. The fish was cooked really well. I loved the Millionaires salad. Crispy taco filled with fresh seafood, something I had not seen before so keen to try and it was so good we made a return booking to bring out of town friends. Easy parking outside too.

Our party of eight were unanimous in their praise for the food. The seafood sharer was amazing, the cup o’ soup was delicious. The duck was cooked perfectly, the chateaubriand was quite excellent. The pork belly was enjoyed and the fillet steak was really good! The decor (including the Banksy artwork) felt just right. The staff were helpful and friendly. Figs restaurant should be top of your list for exclusive dining in Cleethorpes.

We went yesterday after having a look at their afternoon tea menu. The afternoon tea was very quirky and nothing traditional. The food was impeccable as you can see from the images. High quality tasty warm food and the dessert section was scrumptious! Would definitely recommend and will be rebooking. 10/10.
