Excellent service from Rich who sold us on the desserts that made for a great end to our meal. Steaks were good as you'd expect and my wife enjoyed the sea bass main. We we there till nearly 10pm with no pressure to leave. Yes they had to lay up tables for breakfast and judging from the car park the hotel was full. But that didn't detract from our experience. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Update from 2nd visit: fillet steak was very good and the Diane sauce was amazing. Wife enjoyed her lasagne.

1st time and won't be the last. Made very welcome. One of our party in a wheelchair with no access problems. On a very hot day aircon was lovely and not too cold. Our waitress was so lovely. The food was served fairly quickly (considering the variety we ordered) quality 100% best steak I've ever had. We were celebrating our late mum's birthday and experienced everything she would've loved. Already made plans to return.

Very interesting castle but due to our disabilities we were unable to do the full tour and restricted ourselves to the cafe and shop. Staff were friendly and polite. Would recommend.

Very tasteful pub opposite Newark Castle. very good location. delicious drinks are served . In the winter it is climatically by the fireplace. The fireplace there is definitely on +. Nice to sit by the fireplace to eat or drink something. I would recommend more German and Czech beer. because they are definitely the best. The only downside to this pub is that there is no happy hour for drinks . In these times it would definitely work and more customers.

lovely, friendly good service. Have the pork belly, it took a while but the waitress told us it would - it's a slow cook dish. Worth the wait for sure. The two mains and a bottle of wine deal on Tuesdays and Fridays is a bargain. Clean pub, lovely outside area, nicer than it looks from the front.

The staff and service are exceptional. The menu whilst small was amazing. We had three different menu choices and the food was quite simply incredible, perfecly cooked, presented and beautiful tasting. A very decent drinks selection. The staff were friendly and we were made to feel welcome the second we stepped through the door.

With the quality of the young talent in the kitchen it will just get better and better. Family run operations are always the best. Great to have such a class establishment in Newark.

Went for lunch there with my wife. The food was amazing - great flavours. The wine was delicious - we went to Ann et Vin afterwards to get some more. The staff were friendly and efficient. We had a great time.

My first time there and thought it was brilliant. Thought the two front of house staff were especially good. Food was as you’d expect from a fine dining experience- a bit quirky and excellent. Loved it.
