“Le Petit Prince Patisserie is an artisan, authentic bakery where every item is individually handmade using fresh, organic ingredients. Michael started his training as a 17-year-old at Bournemouth and Poole College, where he did a three-year course in catering. The bakery prides itself on the finest skills of its staff, who are passionate about their craft and dedicated to providing customers with authentic, natural, quality bread, bakery products, coffee, and food. All of their bread is handmade using stoneground organic British and French flours.

2025 Update: Le Petit Prince Patisserie is a family-run business known for its handmade breads and traditional French pastries. Michael Russell is the owner and head pastry chef. All breads are made using stoneground organic British and French flours, naturally produced with no preservatives, and given a long proving period to create the best natural loaves. They also offer a range of French treats, including macarons, individual cheesecakes, éclairs, tarts, cappuccino cake, and ever-changing specials. Ingredients are carefully sourced: free-range, Lion-marked British eggs from Blackacre Farm, Red Tractor assured British milk, and locally sourced meat from Westbourne butchers.”

Had the best banana bread ever yesterday, so had to go back for another one today. Unfortunately they had sold out, so I tried the bread pudding and OMG!!! So delicious, you need to try it out. Can't wait to come back to Bournemouth and visit this lovely bakery again. I also had a leeks and goat cheese quiche which was so good!!

One beetroot and goats cheese quiche with a side salad for my husband. I had the homemade mushroom soup with two slices of sour dough. It was absolutely amazing. The staff were very friendly and highly professional.

Fantastic little bakery! Great range of fabulous breads. Huge selection of amazing cakes and pastries, I didn’t know what to buy! You can buy a bag of small cheese scones - absolutely lovely! Highly recommended.

Their coffee and demi baguette with jam and butter makes for the perfect breakfast thay have been consistently good over several visits- some good lunch options for vegetarians which we also appreciate. Service and cleanliness can be hit or miss at times but staff are v friendly, just a bit busy which is understandable since its a small but popular spot.

Went in while waiting for an appointment and got some macarons and a hot chocolate, as well as some takeaway for my brother. Very cosy place with a nice atmosphere and lovely staff! Loved the macarons especially, I've been craving macarons for a while now and Le Petit Prince did not disappoint!

Nice cafe which serves good, palatable coffee and a selection of tempting breads, cakes and pastries which looked like they're baked on site. Not too noisy or crowded, maybe because it was Sunday and not many people about.

BIGWIGS BAKERY REVIEWS

Very nice bakery with loads of options (baked goods, sandwiches, ice-cream sandwiches, hot drinks, cold drinks, soft drinks) and really lovely staff. Had a taste of a lovely sourdough bread with blueberry and honey. Ordered a cinnamon swirl that was amazing, drizzled with icing and not overly sweet, and one of the best pain au chocolat I've had. Definitely coming back before the end of our trip!

I will never be able to fault the baked goodies in this place. The donuts are always amazing and the staff are always friendly and happy to help. I went in today and grabbed a limited edition carrot cake donut to takeaway and it was amazing. Just the right level of sweetness without being sickly. Would always recommend BigWigs.

Small shop but very popular. I arrived at 1000 and the lovely bread was running low. Great selection of bakes both savoury and sweet. Staff super friendly. Would return.
