Moor End Guest House is a charming stone-built house constructed in 1840. The bed and breakfast is conveniently located near Durham city centre and the A1(M), with an array of excellent pubs and restaurants. The city boasts a rich history that stretches back a millennium, originating with the arrival of a religious community in search of a permanent resting place for the remains of St. Cuthbert of Lindisfarne. The accommodation comprises two double en suite rooms, two twin en suite rooms, and a family room suitable for a maximum of two adults and two well-behaved children aged between 5 and 16 years old. To honour their saint, they initially constructed a wooden structure, later replaced by a stone church, atop a rocky hill, providing natural protection on three sides by the River Wear.

MOOR END GUEST HOUSE REVIEWS
The staff were the best couldn't do enough for you They were always trying their best to make you feel welcome We went for the miners Gala the guest house were only two miles away But the staff insisted that they drove us down to the town centre We had B&B and we enjoyed our breakfast everything was clean the room had a fridge and microwave in too We only did the one night I have to say there were no pressure for us to leave The staff even helped an lady with her case, they offered to drop the case off at the railway station for her train at 2pm So yes I do give this place 5 stars.
Accommodation very pleasant, and Martin so helpful. Cracking breakfasts in both quality and quantity. Good menu. A bonus is the bussiness next door, it's pub. Not rowdy but a good local , friendly and soon to have meals on again from a defined kitchen. Good beer, TV/ sport's bar and quiz night on Mondays. Enjoy!
If there were 6 stars, Moor End Guest House would have them all! William & Ming went the extra mile to ensure comfort , safety and more! Just like home...very well looked after. Many thanks!

THE GEORGIAN TOWN HOUSE REVIEWS
My fiance and I have just had the most amazing time staying in this beautiful townhouse. We felt very welcomed, looked after and well-fed too! Robert and Jane certainly gave this property their hearts and soul and their warm, unique personality. And of course, the pancake cafe downstairs is a little gem and should be considered to be put on the list of must-visit cafes in Durham :)
Excellent service and the owners couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. Pancakes for breakfast was a bonus as they are so delicious - even created one to suit my dietary requirements. Huge thanks and I will be back!
Just spent the weekend in Durham and spent a night at the Georgian Town House. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful or friendly. The two bedrooms we had were spotless and very comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the Pancake Cafe next door. Would stay here again if we visit Durham.
