“Breaktimes is a friendly, family-run business serving high-quality breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The Cafe is the first cafe to hold the 5-Star National Food Standards Agency Accreditation. Their cafe facilities are the highest standards you will find anywhere else, equalled only by their service level and food quality. Their staff are courteous and provide excellent service. Breaktimes Cafe is based in Porthmadog and is easily accessible. Their toilet facilities are spotless and fully accessible, with baby changing room facilities. They have great car parking, complete with full Wheelchair access. High chairs are also available as part of their full service if needed.

“The Big Rock Cafe has savoury food made fresh daily by their production kitchen. Graham and Charlotte Whiteman run the cafe, specialising in sourcing the finest coffee beans with full traceability whenever possible, from origin to farm and farmer. Their roaster works closely with ethical suppliers who focus on sustainability. The cafe maintains hygienic food handling, including food preparation, cooking, reheating, cooling, and storage. The Big Rock Cafe daily bakes spelt sourdough, beautiful daily loaves such as fig and rosemary, stromboli, cheddar and marmite, and everyday bread. Takeaway options are available. The cafe also offers high chairs and free Wi-Fi for customers. They accept credit card payments for orders.

2025 Update: They have recently developed the second floor, and upgraded their hotel accommodation into Airbnb letting rooms.”

If I could give this place more stars I would. This was the best Nutella and Strawberry pancakes I’ve ever had. Not only was there more pancakes than I expected there to be, they weren’t shy on their Nutella spread and strawberries. The strawberry jam was to die for too. Not only was the food delicious, the service was spectacular. Every person I spoke to was so incredibly nice. They also brought out the food so quickly, which is amazing since my group ordered bigger meals. I was so close to licking my plate clean, it was that good.

Absolutely amazing!!! So glad we found this place as we were passing through, so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, delivered our takeaway straight to our vehicle and boy did it go above and beyond!! Perfect 10/10 breakfast.

The best food we’ve eaten in forever, wish you were nearer to us. Very clean & beautiful decor and lovely friendly staff. 10/10 highly recommend. x.

We found this place by chance while staying in the area for the week. We’re so glad we did, we ate here 3-4 times. The double espresso was perfect, unlike the many coffee chains these days. The food is all so fresh, I can highly recommend the toasted sandwiches, Homity pie and granola. The toasted sandwiches are HUGE! I had bacon and Brie and the bread is so fresh tasting. Service was also great with good humour. The only slight criticism would be the tables could be wiped more often, but a few crumbs didn’t spoil it at all! Lovely staff, perfect food and something truly different.

We love this cafe!! Best cafe in the area! Best coffee and breads. Big beautiful fresh baked doughnuts, iced buns, sausage rolls and all sorts of lovely Welsh favorites. Friendly staff and such a homely place to sit. Cannot rate this place more highly.

On the high street in the middle of town, this is an atmospheric and almost quaint place to have a snack, drink, or meal. I had a vegan meal for breakfast and a coffee and it set me up for the day.

CAFFI GWYNANT REVIEWS

A lovely Caffi that I wish had been open every day of our stay! We were in the area from Monday- Wednesday and agte seeing all the fab reviews we made sure we stopped for breakfast before setting off our journey home. The full Welsh breakfast was delicious my children had the kinder chocolate pancakes which looked and tastes amazing. The staff were wonderful, especially the two young boys who were doing a fabulous job. We will be back next time we are in the area.

Lovely cafe! The staff were so nice and friendly and a young man was so nice and funny! The food was excellent with amazing tea and coffee with lovely cold water served with it too. We wanted to come again the next day but unfortunately it was closed!.

Popped in here for a cuppa and snack and wow, what an amazing place. A renovated old chapel complete with Bible still on the Pulpit. Great, cozy atmosphere and the staff are super friendly and gave us advice on some beautiful waterfall walks in the area. Food was great and coffee was delicious. Highly recommend this place.
