Y Sgwâr Restaurant is chic, with a slate floor, an original stone fireplace, and a stone archway. The restaurant seats 70 people and is an excellent choice for various occasions and party bookings. They understand all dietary requirements and are happy to cater for vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, celiac and lactose-free diets. Y Sgwâr Restaurant offers table reservations.

“Wal Restaurant offers a menu that ranges from satisfying lunchtime burgers to premium fillet steaks. The restaurant Owner is John Tyrrell, and he has carefully selected all the meat from Wavells, located just four miles away. The meat comes from a herd of Welsh black cows that graze in a stress-free environment alongside the Menai Strait, enjoying lush grass and meadow flowers in their pasture. Wal Restaurant's meat is dry-hung for 28 days to ensure optimal tenderness and is expertly cooked on a state-of-the-art char grill. The restaurant offers outdoor seating and kids' menu.

2025 Update: Wal Restaurant is a dog-friendly restaurant, and well-behaved dogs are warmly welcomed indoors. Fresh water bowls and the occasional treat are available.”

Gorgeous food and a great restaurant. I would have taken photos of the food but it was so appetising and delicious that I forgot!! We ordered a few starters to share and they were phenomenal. Would absolutely come back for more. The mussels were cooked well and the sauce complimented everything including our crab croquettes. Everything we had was good value for money and worth it.

The food, service, and ambience could not be faulted. The early bird menu was the best we've ever had, portion sizes just right. The staff were attentive without being intrusive.

Really liked this place. Good food and nice atmosphere. Like eating at someone’s home. I ordered scallops, which were good. My friend orders mussels and they were really good. As main I took the file and friend ribeye. Both very good.

It was the first time I visited this cafe in Caernarfon. I know from a travel website that its fish and chips are recommended. My family had lunch here. We ordered large fish and chips and Margherita pizza. Both dishes are amazing and delicious. I feel so surprised that they can provide good Welsh, British and Italian food. At the same time, the customer service is satisfactory. The staff are friendly, helpful and nice. Feel satisfied with this meal.

What a gem this place is. Food was amazing great setting brilliant staff so polite and friendly we will be back when we come back on our hols. Also a bonus its dog friendly thanks for a great evening.

Excellent food from this place in the heart of Caernarfon, service by Shannon was spot on very polite and welcoming. I recommended the Welsh breakfast it was very yummy .we can't wait to come back.

What can I say! Absolutely bloody fantastic, the building is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. Service was excellent, we had a gluten free person in our group and the offerings were the best we have come across. Food was perfect and very generous portions. Best pub we visited whilst away in the area.

Came here while on a mini getaway and was highly recommended by the hosts of the place I was staying at. The food was delicious, the staff were kind and the service was fab. Very grateful they managed to squeeze me in on the day. If I’m ever back in the area I’ll definitely come again.

Visited here as we were staying at Haven Y Mor down the road and this place had been recommended on several sites. Manager was great, service was great, food was beautiful , very generous portions! They also let me mix and match the childrens menu to accommodate my daughter…I hope to return again should I be in the area again! I highly recommend this place, thank you.
