“Northern Tea House is an independent cafe founded by Kevin and Emma. Their team and customer base have grown, and they gather many people they love to see daily. All of their staff are friendly and provide excellent service. They bring you the smoothest melodies and slickest beats around. Northern Tea House uses the freshest ingredients to serve traditional breakfasts, hot and cold sandwiches, light lunches, and desserts in a warm, welcoming ambience. Their modern industrial tea house seats up to 42 people downstairs in a comfortable and unique environment and has become a firm favourite for locals, students, and business people. 2025 Update: Northern Tea House opened the upstairs room, which seats a further 20 people and with the added outside seating, another 10, with a mix of industrial furniture and vintage touches and a modern edge.”

Had a lovely fried egg, mushroom and bacon sandwich on white gluten free bread for my lunch today with a cappuccino and gluten free muffin following a busy Sunday morning. The sandwich was delicious the coffee wonderful as always. The staff were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble and all made me feel comfortable asking for help when needed. Finding a place that has helpful staff, who cater for dietary requirements, is accessible for mobility reasons and is a safe space when on your own is difficult to find these days in my opinion. A big thank you to all the Merrie England staff at New Hey Road.

Called today and bought an apple pie and iced Bakewell staff were lovely !! It was mums 70th birthday and needed something quick as I left it last minute Definitely recommend this store!! Thanks to the bakery at oaks drive threw Huddersfield Would definitely buy again as mum enjoyed with friends and family.

Always busy because of the great food and great service. The hot roast beef sandwich with gravy is to die for. If you get the chance, try it. Turkey seasoning with pickled onion and mayo...the portion is amazing.

I met up with an old friend and business associate for brunch here today. What a wonderful find. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were lush. We will definitely come back again.

Whipped feta and beetroot is literally not of this world. I feel the owners have possibly sold their soul to the devil as I seriously don't know how it tastes this good. Absolutely recommend!!.

Consistently first class service, food and drinks. A huge range of tea, which is served in a proper pot! Always served promptly and hot, even when busy. There’s a lovely friendly lady who must be the manager. She is on always the ball and accommodating.

This cafe has a very cosy ambience, the coffee is excellent and the salads are marvellous Highly recommended, you will never regret it.

Excellent service, polite staff, food presentation was excellent and tasted great. The price was cheap. I will definitely be back.

I keep coming back every time in Huddersfield. Lovely food and great menu choice.
