St Joseph's Church was built between 1926 and 1928 in the Italianate style. The church is located at the corner of London Road and Western Avenue, north of the town centre, and has been granted Grade II listed status by Historic England. St Joseph's Church was designed by Wilfred Clarence Mangan, an architect from Preston, who also designed the Church of Their Lady of Hal, Camden, English Martyrs Church in Reading, and the extension at St Joseph's Church in Reading. On 18th June 1978, a new altar in the church was consecrated by Anthony Emery, the Bishop of Portsmouth. The church conducts daily Mass and two Sunday Masses at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM.

2025 Update: The Parish Hall is located in the church grounds, and the Hall provides facilities for the disabled at a reasonable hourly rate. When The Hall is not used for Parish events, the hall is available for private functions and has a capacity of 120 people.
