Fish and chips especially tasty even though same company I find like others that dish is far better then at seafood temple ...staff very attentive and really nice... Come here once a week usually with friends well worth a visit for good old fish and chips and mushy peas mmmm.

Good Friday, so had to wait for around 30 mins to get in...not a bad wait time at all. Served straight away and our food appeared almost straight away. It was the special, fish, chips, mushy peas and a cuppa for around £16 each...we got a bun each (really wished it was bread cos a bun is weird - for me) but we could eat them...we were both defeated by the whale and the massive portion of chips we received. Haven't been for years and it was my fellas first time, it won't be his last.

Was recommended a stop at Coleman's by a friend who used to live locally. We had just completed walking Hadrian's Wall from west to east, after dipping our boots in the North Sea to complete the walk, we staggered onto Coleman's, where we were met warmly, made comfortable and then served the BEST FISH & CHIPS I have ever, ever tasted! Great staff, very comfortable surroundings, staff lovely. Did I mention that the fish and chips were the best we've ever had?! Unlikely to return to South Shields but if we do, there is only one place to eat! Cannot recommend highly enough.

Their service can’t be beat. Amazing food and great selection. I come here every time I visit Newcastle. We always get the luxury fish and chips with tea. Absolutely delicious.

Large chips and curry sauce, just what was needed after the Great North Run. Big portion and really nice food. Staff lovely and chatty. Will come.again next year.

Absolutely gorgeous fish and chips!!! Possibly one of the best I’ve had! We went here today for lunch, we hadn’t been before but we noticed they had some good deals on, we wanted the cod bites and chips but the deal had finished for the day so we shared one small portion of fish and chips which were absolutely gorgeous, the fish was lily white, the batter was light and crunchy and the chips (although slightly anaemic) were all equally delicious, plenty of salt and vinegar too. I’ll definitely be having these fish and chips again, it’s directly opposite South Shields metro station.

Went here for lunch and had tater tots with garlic mushrooms and garlic and chipotle sauce. Food arrived quickly and was piping hot, very tasty dish considering this was my first time sampling tater tots. Rest of the family enjoyed their food and overall it's a reasonably priced place so would definitely recommend.

Love to stop here for coffee and the occasional scone when walking dog along beach. Log burner is great , really warm. Coffee and scones are really good. Gets busy .

Just had fish and chips here. Very good. Service spot on and very clean.
