We have visited Cognac numerous times in the past, this is our first visit since the refurbishment, it was great before but is even better now. As always the food was outstanding, very reasonable priced. A special mention and thanks to Shona, she was attentive, very helpful and friendly, an asset to the company not only that, on hearing one of our party was celebrating a birthday arranged for a surprise (in the form of a delicious dessert) above and beyond. Thank you for making an enjoyable experience even better. We will be back.

Outstanding food. The snails& muscles were cooked perfectly, the pork, duck and pudding was amazing... You need to book if you love great french food the wine was perfect for our dish. Would recommend day in day out. Thank you for such an amazing evening.

Brilliant food, steaks are amazing and very good value. Staff are very friendly. Regulatpy eat here and its as good as always.

You might never notice this great restaurant; the exterior really doesn’t match the quality of the food inside. Really flavourable food, nice, friendly service, and warm atmosphere. Don’t just walk passed this lovely restaurant. Step in and give it a try.

Had a great evening with our nephew on Saturday - not been here since 2019. Forgot how lovely it is. A very friendly , quaint, rustic Italian, lovely ambience and amazing food. Re booking already.

Incredible evening from start to finish! We were visiting Beverley for the Folk Festival so had booked a table well in advance. Both the food and the service were fantastic, as a table of 4 we all had something different for our main course and each one was delicious. The plating was beautiful and the restaurant manager was friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Decor is also lovely and wine list is extensive. Go with an empty stomach, thoroughly recommend!

Invited here last night by friends who have been before. As the name suggests, it is pretty much in the style of a typical small french restaurant. The place is a lot more like how you would imagine a place 40 years ago that was called a restaurant and not like the soulless places offered by the chains of today. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the food well presented and tasty. Table booked in advance and the place was pretty full, so I'm guessing it's always sold out, and that's no surprise. Wife is already planning a follow up visit!

This felt like more than a dining experience, it was exceptional. We were made very welcome from the outset by the down to earth floor manager for whom nothing was too much trouble. We both ate a three course meal which was extremely filling but great, fresh food at its best. Eddie himself served all customers and was chatty and relaxed, lovely to see the chef interacting with the people he works so hard for. It's a long way from home but we're planning to come again!! Thank you for a special evening.
