3 Best Indian Restaurants in Carlisle, UK

Booked this restaurant for valentines meal. We were welcomed with a warm, friendly smile and a good evening. We were shown to our table and given menus. Drinks were ordered quickly. The food service was fantastic, and the meal itself was out of this world very tasty. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere and very relaxing. Great little touch at the end. When we paid the bill, we were given little chocolates and a bag of sweets. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Thank you for a great evening.

First time since the refurb and not disappointed. The place is stylish, modern and a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were all brilliant with excellent customer service. The food was better than amazing, loved every mouthful and are already planning our next visit. Definitely the best in town.

This restaurant is fantastic, with an interesting decor and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious, aromatic, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend it.

The Shara Tandoori is just a 5 minute walk from the railway station and is well worth the trip. The food is outstanding. I have eaten at Indian restaurants all over the UK and cook my own Indian food, I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the quality on offer here. A good menu hints at the quality that your are about to receive, and as soon as you place your order your attentive server will make sure that you receive exactly what you want. We received our starters within 5 minutes and they were superb, well presented and full of flavour. The mains were ready almost as soon as our plates were cleared, piping hot and full of fragrance to make your mouth water. The portion size was pretty good too and it was incredibly flavourful and full of Indian pride.

We were a table of 8. There are plenty of choices for starters, mains, rice etc. We had poppadoms, mains and shared rice and naans. Took a little while for the drinks to arrive both times we ordered them, but food came in a timely manner. It was good food, very little and leftover. Reasonable prices too.

Very nice. I would have liked a bit more meat in the biryani, but good amount of prawns, good flavour and plenty of vegetable sauce to go with it. The cauliflower side was tasty, and the starter very good, onion bahji was light and sweet.
