BEEFEATER BORDER GATE REVIEWS
We stopped for lunch about 2.30pm, had 2 two course meals and two drinks for less than £30.00 which considering my main was a rump steak, I thought was excellent value for money. That and the fact the steak was cooked exactly how I like it, medium rare, means next time we're back in the area we'll definitely be paying a visit.
The staff are friendly but, in the evening at least, service was quite slow. The food was good. Breakfast was super fast but that's because it's self service... I don't know if breakfast is only for Premier Inn customers or from everyone, but it is very good value.
We visited here on a very long journey back, we was glad of the stop. Food was nice and cooked well, compliments to the chef. To the gent who asked how was our meal, we appreciated that and to aimee our waitress thank you for a great service. Overall we had a great visit. If we are ever back in Carlisle we will be sure to visit again.

SPIDER & FLY REVIEWS
Visited here last Saturday for a late lunch and drinks with a couple of friends. We were in the dining room/area at the back which was lovely with a relaxed atmosphere. Service was fantastic, so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the prosseco went down a bit too easy Thank you, hopefully we'll be back very soon!
Very friendly with a really good relaxed atmosphere. The decor is really good with a great layout. The restaurant provides good space away from the main bar. The food was really tasty and good portions. There is a wide variety of drinks and the staff were very helpful with deciding what cocktails to have. As it was my birthday the staff had organised a birthday dessert for me which was fab.
Had the bottomless brunch and the food was amazing. The staff were on point, never once had to flag one down and they kept the drinks flowing. Will have to go back as there was so much on the menu I wanted to try.

THE OLD BANK REVIEWS
I love this place! The food was absolutely spectacular. We went for Sunday dinner which is 2 courses of 3 choices. You can do starter and main or main and dessert. We were traveling through but for any who are visiting in the future, if you go for Sunday dinner (which I highly recommend) and are traveling with another person I suggest one of you get the starter and the other dessert and then split those between you. The starter portion would have been considered a main meal portion in other restaurants. Plus the dinner was massive with two veggies on the side. My husband commented “I am finally served a meal with enough gravy” and good god the gravy was delicious. He got the beef, I the chicken, and our daughter the fish and chips.
Amazing food....amazing. The flavours and presentation is fantastic. The service was good but a bit more personality wouldn't have gone a miss. The decor was beautiful with a relaxing atmosphere. We had virgin cocktails and the lilted tilted was gorgeous. We will definitely be back.
I spent some time trying to find a cute little restaurant in Carlisle ... and what a little gem did I stumble upon. This place is stunning. The interior design is a dream ... I could spend hours upon hours happily admiring everything.
