The castle also explores the military history of the 16th-century Rough Wooing conflict. Visitors can enjoy live event performances, engaging game activities, and various exhibits. Free car parking is available at the front of the castle, conveniently located about an 8-minute walk from Broughty Railway Station. Landmark Building Concert Hall Performance Venue and Tourist Place

Caird Hall is a concert auditorium, and the hall is a category A listed building. Caird Hall has hosted an impressive array of concerts that cemented its place in Scotland's live music scene. The hall is 135 feet tall. The venue has a capacity of 2,300 fully seated, and this is also used for graduation ceremonies from the University of Abertay Dundee, Angus College, and the University of Dundee. Children 3 years and above must hold a valid ticket to attend a performance. Once you enter the Caird Hall, photography and the recording of events are strictly forbidden.

2025 Update: Caird Hall was designed by town architect James Thomson, with assistance from Vernon Constable. The foundation stone was laid by King George V and Queen Mary in 1914.

Mains Castle is believed to have been built in 1562 by Sir David Graham, nephew of Cardinal Beaton, and features a series of buildings arranged around a central courtyard. Although several original western buildings have been lost, the castle's layout included living quarters for the family in the northern and eastern sections, while the southern quarters were reserved for servants. The castle is distinguished by its large, six-floor square tower house with dressed cornerstones, a hallmark of 16th-century architecture. Mains Castle also hosts live events and provides facilities for wedding ceremonies, making it a versatile venue for various occasions.
