ROCHDALE TOWN HALL REVIEWS
A truly beautiful and majestic place with lot of historical value. 3 hours free parking next to town hall. Beautiful from outside and some great paintings on walls and windows inside. Really good venue for events or just to walk around and soak up atmosphere. This building was built in the 19th century. Well worth the visit.
A building of character! I've had a full tour of the Rochdale Town Hall where I saw more than just the great hall. There are lots of exiting developments taking place to make as much of the building open to the public in a number of different ways.

Ellenroad Engine House proudly stands as the world's largest operational steam mill situated in Rochdale, UK. This historic site holds the distinction of being one of only three scheduled historical monuments in Rochdale and is under the management and operation of The Ellenroad Trust Ltd. The trust was established in 1985 to preserve the Ellenroad Engine House and its engines. The Ellenroad Engine House showcases an impressive array of 99,756 mule spindles, drawing frames, and carding machines, all crafted by Platts of Oldham. The Whitelees Beam Engine remained in operation until its final run in 1942. To support its operations, the engine house relies on five Lancashire boilers, for which a towering 220ft chimney was constructed to ensure adequate draft. Irene, the engine, is a single-cylinder horizontal marvel weighing approximately 7 tonnes. The extensive restoration efforts demanded about 4,000 person-hours from dedicated society volunteers. Visitors can enjoy a picnic area equipped with seating for comfort, and light refreshments are available within the house. Furthermore, Ellenroad Engine House offers free admission, parking, and chair lifts for the convenience of its guests.

ELLENROAD ENGINE HOUSE REVIEWS
This is a fascinating place for all those with an interest in the Industrial Revolution. Plenty to see with volunteers on hand to answer questions. When the engine is in steam you can really appreciate what a amazing piece of engineering it is.
First time there interesting. I've now become a member at this Mill working on Steam days and none Steam days. Helping to rebuild another Steam engine. Working with the other members who are great to work with. Update come and Irene in steam. I'll be running her on May 5th Classic car show and bikes fun for all ages.
Industrial history and well worth a visit when they are on a steam day, vintage land rovers on display were a bonus...
