“Rochdale Pioneers Museum is the birthplace of the modern cooperative movement. The Museum is housed in an 18th-century building on an authentic cobbled street in the heart of the Toad Lane Conservation Area. Visitors can view the Pioneers' original minute book from 1844 in the ground-floor exhibition space. Rochdale Pioneers Museum can learn about early cooperators like Robert Owen, explore what life was like in the 'hungry' 1840s, and understand the principles and legacy of the Rochdale Pioneers. On the first floor, visitors will find a range of cooperative artefacts, including delivery bikes and banners. Rochdale Pioneers Museum's top floor is used for meetings, lectures, workshops, and educational events. The Museum features a screen and seating area where visitors can relax and watch vintage cooperative films from the Museum's archive collection.”
