MARKEATON PARK REVIEWS
Great place to visit for a gentle stroll, taking the family out for a lovely picnic, paddle on the boat or walking your doggies. This place is massive and has it all: car park to the front (can pay by card - boooonus), massive fields for running around, playing ball, catch, flying kite, a small lake where you can rent a boat and go on a romantic sail cafe and sitting benches with children's play area, little stream running across it... What more could you want. Very well maintained, clean and looked after. Definitely worth a visit!
Brilliant for the kids and the family loads of fields decent size park with big slides climbing frames. Children's bit. A child's rowing lake and quite a big pool with grass next to it to sit down on. A really enjoyable day out.
A great resource for walking children's day out play areas and even a nice cafe. Great garden and ponds. Excellent nature areas. Middle of Derby.

ELVASTON CASTLE COUNTRY PARK REVIEWS
Lovely walk round the lake and grounds with a nature reserve tucked away at the back with a chance to see a snake sun basking in the reptile area, café, toilets, and shop on site with coffee vendor and ice cream van in the car park.
Thoroughly enjoyed. For free entry (just pay a very reasonable parking fee in a good car park) it offered alot to see and walk around. A well kept english flower garden, views of the castle and cafe/gift shops within acres and acres of wildlife.
Breathtaking views of grounds...pictures don't do it justice. Has a really good cafe for a morning treat whilst on your walk.

ALVASTON PARK REVIEWS
Easy to park. Nice for a quick stroll around with my dog. You can also access the park by the river and either head into town or down towards Elvaston Castle for a longer walk (though that would obviously not be a circular walk!) there are toilets and a cafe. And a duck pond.
Ive not been here for some years and had forgot just how nice the lake was. The birds are wonderful and really nice them being so tame they let you walk close to them even though they have chicks. Will be going again very soon.
Beautiful park, great playground and outdoor gym. I did the park run here and it was a lovely flat route, it made a great change to Markeaton and I'll definitely go again. Only down side was for some reason the cafe there was shut off so sitting outside was the only option.
