a very interesting museum, a museum with everything from ammonites to stuffed animals and birds, from butterfly collections to starfish, from pottery to Egyptian art from glass to metal, clock collections, house models , the history of the city and even an art gallery, you can find all of them in this chic museum. you can stop for a coffee in the museum cafe or buy a souvenir from their shop. a place where you can spend a few pleasant hours. it was a pleasant surprise and a wonderful day spent at your place.

Today was my first visit to the royal Albert memorial museum in Exeter and what a treat. Many different exhibits from all periods of time. The place is having a lot of exterior work done and still looks awesome. Nice and approachable staff. All they ask is you can leave a donation for these places it helps them stay alive.

Proper ansom this pace is! Well worth spending some time here and filling your boots with fun and knowledge.

THE BILL DOUGLAS CINEMA MUSEUM REVIEWS

Definitely worth a visit if you're seriously interested in film history. It's fairly small, based around a bequest by Bill Douglas to the University of Exeter. To display as much as possible, the exhibit cases are a bit crowded but the items are of great interest. The second gallery has a good exhibition of pre-film moving image makers. Nice people in charge, and not too far to walk from the city centre (we did, ages 73 and 76).

Great museum to visit for my kids. It’s a short visit (about 30 minutes) with some reading but also some activities. We found an open suitcase with some activities: some old school 3D glasses (one blue and one red lenses) with some pictures. Brought me back to my childhood. Highly recommend!!

Good little find. Was raining and we came across this when finding things to do undercover. Exhibition was interesting and at times tactile. Well worth a look.

UNDERGROUND PASSAGES REVIEWS

Wonderful! Our guide Rachel was great, excellent with the kids, very knowledgeable, and made us feel safe in the passages. Which, by the way, they aren’t kidding, they’re very narrow and/or low, so if you’re even a little bit claustrophobic, don’t think you’ll be okay, because you won’t! That said, if you are okay in small spaces, they’re really fascinating history. The little museum bit was good too, and it was all very well organised, especially the video introduction and the bag lockers system. Great visit, well worth the money.

Rachel is a fantastic guide, she has lots of facts about the passages and history, and made the whole experience fun and entertaining. Really enjoyed this tour underground, definitely book ahead, well worth a visit.
