“Southport FC stadium is a stadium that has limited car parking facilities reserved for home, away, and match officials, with a capacity of 6,008. Since its opening in 1905, the stadium has served as the home ground of Southport FC stadium. Southport FC stadium has also hosted youth international matches. In 1921, it was officially renamed Haig Avenue after Earl Haig. Although the stadium has a capacity of 7,000, the record attendance was 20,010 during an FA Cup fourth-round match against Newcastle United in 1932. A similar number attended another FA Cup tie against Everton in 1968.”

BOTANIC GARDENS REVIEWS

A great place to visit at all times of the year and always looks beautiful, especially when the snowdrops are in bloom. Right next to the village of Churchtown and about a 5 minute drive or just under an hours walk from the middle of Southport. Lovely to walk around to feed the ducks, swans and other wildlife while sipping a hot chocolate or enjoying an ice cream from the cafe. The only thing I wish is that I visited sooner!

I stopped off at the Botanical Gardens while out cycling just to check out the flower displays near to the entrance. I didn't venture into the rest of the park on this visit, but I will do at some point in the summer, so I will update the review at that point. The flower displays are in full bloom and look really good, and the variety of birds in the aviaries were rather vocal, although I didn't get any photos of them on this visit. That said, if the rest of the park is anything like the entrance area, it will be worth visiting if you are in the area.

Lovely park, lots of adventures to be had in the hills and the tunnels for kids and the playground is great. Lots of ducks to feed and a nice cafe to feed yourselves after a long walk around.

BRITISH LAWNMOWER MUSEUM REVIEWS

What a superb little gem of a museum. It deserves a larger venue. Clearly a labour of love the museum shows a wonderful range of grass cutters spanning almost 200 years. The eye openers show just how good British made machines were. The modern small lawns may not need these large machines but. Models fromm 100 years or more would still do the job and would probably leave a better finish. I cannot commend this museum more highly. It is a credit to the owners and Southport is very fortunate to host this little beauty.

Every country has its quirky museums. This tells the history from the first lawn mower. There are exhibits from many famous personalities. Parking near was no problem. Amazing how much they packed in.

Really cool little museum! Went on a spontaneous visit and we were lucky enough to be given a super informative and engaging talk by the owner who happened to be there! Very much enjoyed our visit!

SOUTHPORT FC STADIUM REVIEWS

Recently, I attended my first Southport FC game at Haig Avenue, also known as The Big Help Stadium, to watch Southport take on Preston North End. Southport played exceptionally well and clinched the victory, making it a memorable experience and a good first impression for this team. The fans were amazing and incredibly friendly and generous, one was offering free sweets which adds to the fantastic atmosphere. The stadium itself is decently sized and provides a great view of the action on the pitch. The food options were reasonably priced; I got a tasty burger for £4.50. However, the price for a 500ml Pepsi at £3.50 was a bit steep but I suppose to they've got to make money somewhere

Although it is the home of a part-time team, the facilities are excellent. The stands are tall and beautiful, and the toilets are clean and hygienic.

Nice ground. Been watching Everton ladies play here. Good fun day out. Such a lovely ground such a wonderful experience for our children.
