2025 Update: Mike and Nicki have been the landlords of The Prince Of Wales since October 2006, with Mike bringing over 30 years of experience in the pub industry. “The Royal Oak dishes are supplemented by daily changing specials influenced by all areas of the world that Ian has been fortunate to travel & work in. The Royal Oak is a beautiful thatched pub in the middle of the little village of Over Stratton. They host a monthly international-themed night, offering small plates inspired by the local dishes of different countries each month. They are happy to accommodate all dietary requirements, and many gluten-free alternatives are available at affordable prices. The Royal Oak offers outside food allowed, outdoor seating and takeaway.

Prince of Wales is a very nice pub with very good service and very good food.. The location is superb, you can sit outside and enjoy the wiev if weather permits. Tha staff was welcoming and patient with our order. Definitely a place to go back. I wish I had taken more photos.

Stopped off here for lunch after a morning exploring Ham Hill. Classic country pub. Popular with cyclists and walkers. Plenty of seating options. Inside and out. The food was good, generous portions and service was quick. Very dog friendly.

Highly recommend this pub. Lovely food, great value for money, fabulous service in a beautiful setting. What more could you want. Dog-friendly too.

Really great pub lovely friendly staff and I honestly had one of the best sirloin steaks I’ve ever had cooked to perfection. Considering it was a Friday night and busy the food arrived in a very reasonable time.

We were in Somerset for a long weekend and dropped in to The Royal Oak for Sunday lunch - excellent service, well presented and very tasty food.

This is a delightful pub with a well above average restaurant. Everything was well and individually cooked and main course options are good. Well worth more visits.

Absolutely amazing place to enjoy a fantastic meal with great hosts and barstaff! Very thoughtful and accommodating before we even got to try the sumptuous food! 5 stars doesn't do it justice.

My daughter and I have just enjoyed a 3 night stay and can’t thank Ali enough for her warm welcome on arrival and her kind attention during our stay. The rooms were warm and well furnished with everything you need for a short stay. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the one small issue with the shower was dealt with immediately. The food was delicious and well priced and the full english breakfasts with veggie option set us up each. Ali is a credit to the Brewers Arms and we’ll definitely be visiting again as we enjoyed our stay so much.

We were visting the area and visited The Brewers Arms for a meal on the Saturday night. The pub had a good atmosphere. The restaurant was really nice and the food was lovely. The staff were excellent. We will definitely be back when we are next in the area.
