If you visit here, I hope you are served by Bertrand because he is fantastic. The food was great, especially our steaks with the beef dripping sauce. It's well worth the price tag, and we'll certainly visit again.

A lovely meal here again last night, although it was busier as it was bank holiday weekend so we waited a bit longer for our food. All the staff were friendly especially our waitress Sam. We were a bit disappointed as we ordered from the set Sunday menu but when we came to pay & used our £25 reward voucher we were told we had to pay full price for our food rather than the set price. I can’t find anywhere where it states this, had we known in advance we would have ordered from the normal menu.

Been served by charlotte tonight, charlotte is new and she gave nothing but best service to me and my partner, it was actually my partners birthday so we decided to vome back here again. Charlotte just made our night extra special by being super friendly and making us feel so welcome, its also lovely to see younest gave good hosting skills and communticating as allot dont these days, charlotte thankyou for making our night extra special.

A lovely atmospheric pub with friendly staff and good selection of food and drink. An added bonus, On some Sunday mornings classic cars meet up from 9am to enjoy a chat and a very well priced bacon roll and coffee or tea for just £5pp. See website for details of dates. We will definitely be coming to the next classic meeting (weather permitting obviously.

Found this place when we were visiting local National Trust properties. So glad we did. Friday evening and we hadn't booked but thought we'd give it a go. The number of cars in the carpark was a good sign of it's popularity and it was soon filling up just after 6pm. Friendly staff made us feel welcome straight away and trying the selection of ciders on tap before choosing wasn't a drama at all. Neither was the fact we'd not booked, as we were accommodated without bother. Staff were very good at explaining what was what and any tweaks to our selection wasn't a problem at all. I had a blanchebait starter ( a type of white fish in breadcrumbs) and the wife had a South African beef curry. (Plenty of choices for starter, main and dessert). Both lovely and really decent platefuls, which meant we didn't have room for anything else! Excellent value for money as well, so would recommend to anyone.

We took a chance at this place whilst staying in the area. To say it's dog friendly is an understatement, treats and a bowl of water were provided for our Labrador before we'd even ordered our lunch. The Sunday lunch hit the spot and the Yorkshire pudding was the best I've had for along time. Service was exemplary and we were made to feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

We love coming to the old inn for a meal and game of chess. Fantastic food. Lovely staff. Really friendly pub that are always welcoming and hospitable. Great midweek offers. Never had a bad meal here.

Had a great lunch on way back from Devon. Great food, good service, just off A303. Dog friendly bar, separate dining room and rooms to stay if you want.

Thursday dinner, one chef was off ill so they had reduced the menu, however they had not reduced the welcome or the service. The staff are very welcoming, happy and helpful. Food was well priced and excellent. Wine was also a good price and excellent. We booked again for tomorrow night.
