The Providence without any doubt saved my life. I was on a downward spiral of self destruction when I arrived at their doors and within a matter of hours, I was convinced that going to the Provvy was going to be the best decision I'd ever made and so it turned out to be. The staff there are amazing and I felt a genuine feeling of companionship because they knew what I was going through and they were living proof that there is a way out. I never felt like I was a patient or a client, I was treated with dignity and respect and encouraged at every step. I learned so much about myself and about my condition through speaking to the staff, my peers at the Provvy and through one to one counselling, it all contributed towards giving me the strength to tackle my demons and begin a new chapter in my life free from the hell of addiction and ready to live life to the fullest. Since leaving the Provvy in 2020 I have gone on to find work, buy my first property, meet my fiancee and soon we are expecting our first child together and I can hand on heart say that none of this would have been possible without the Providence Projects. My name is Mike Smith I attended the providence project on the 19 th of march 2024 !! I was totally broken and my wife had heard that this was the place to go so I went and I have to say it was excellent from the start the staff were amazing and so kind and friendly and the peers were very helpful and approachable which was great as the first day was a bit scary!! But soon people were introducing themselves and I settled in quickly I was then told which house I would be in and made friends with my housemates, billy ,Cathy ,Denise and then Harrison and Brad which were two good lads. The councillors were really good people that have all been through some sort of addiction so they know what there talking about which helps a lot as if a normal person was telling you this and that it would be a bit awkward and weird but because there like us it helps highly recommend the provi and I will return one day to do a share and hopefully help someone in recovery like the people did for me 5 stars from me

Seventeen years ago staff and peers at The Providence Project walked with me through the first six months of my sobriety.
