I found the museum while wandering round Blackburn town centre on a short visit, so was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the exhibits. The museum puts Blackburn in the context of a once world-leading town and its associated wealth. The ground floor displays on local history and the cotton industry are very interesting, but the ancient manuscripts on the first floor are especially impressive, along with the Egyptology section. Too much to see in one visit, so hope to return to
