THE LITTLE BAKERY REVIEWS

We split a Steak and Ale pie at the fair in Kirkcudbright last weekend. It was so good we bought 6 to bring home. Then, we read the reviews. We were worried we'd made an error buying so many. But, not so! Either a few folks here got some unlucky pies, or The Little Bakery took your criticisms to heart. We had the Curried Cauliflower, Peppered Steak with Black Pudding, Mince & Onion, Chicken/Cheese & Broccoli, and the Haggis/Chicken & Peppercorn Sauce. The filling on all was ample, the top pastry was flaky and wonderful, and the rest of the pastry was lovely with that slightly stretchy quality; not undone, just perfect! The "atmosphere" rating we gave here was because the people working the stall were efficient and delightfully friendly. We haven't been to the shop in Dumfries. But we'll be going there! My only unfavorable critique is that it would have been nice if they'd had a way to heat the pies at the fair.

We went to a local fair in Kilmacolm and decided to buy 4 pies, peppered steak and black pudding, peppered mushroom, haggis, chicken and peppercorn sauce and chicken and chorizo. These were some of the tastiest pies we've ever had. Pastry was flakey on the top and chewy and soft in the middle, there was ample filling and plenty of flavour and seasoning. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is you couldn't really taste the chorizo but it was still delicious. The price was good value for money. We would definitely buy from The Little Bakery again.

Got a selection of pies from a stall they had at New Lanark. Got the scotch pie, chicken & pulled ham, Chicken curry and Chicken and mushroom. All of them were absolutely superb. Very tasty and absolutely rammed with tasty filling. Way better than any pie you can buy in a supermarket and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended! Pictures is a chicken and pulled ham pie. Their pie chart is awesome.

Such a great place to visit. A wide range of vegan products are on sale here, as well as hot drinks and cakes - the vegan chocolate cake is especially delicious! We were too late to buy any bread - they’d sold out, but did have some frozen loafs on offer. If you’re passing by, you should definitely drop in.

Picked up some goodies here for a picnic. The only problem was that the olive & cheese twist we bought looked so delicious, it ended being eaten as soon as we left the shop and didn't make it to the picnic! If I lived locally, definitely a place I would frequently visit.

My favourite bakery in Dumfries & Galloway. It’s named as one of Europe’s best bakeries. The bread and pastries are amazing.

Was in your shop the other day there great service from the new trainee did asked her name said Claire I want to thank Claire the other day she done well wen she served me at the till very friendly and helpful great worker I be back happy customer great food and coffee.

Can't beat a steak bake or sausage roll from Gregg's and it's a very handy place to stop off when shopping in Dumfries Town Centre. Never have to queue for long and prices are reasonable.

Great Greggs! Clean tidy. We were served by the manager he was helpful and very friendly with a big smile. Well done.
