It was my first time in Annan, so I asked some random people for recommendations and they suggested this place. I like the food, the people, and the atmosphere, especially the flowers. I will be back to try the burgers. Thank you.

Very clean and very quick service...home made soup and everyone's food looked great and lovely design features...plenty of customers but not too crowded...Good menu.

On holiday from Lincoln, we have had a breakfast at The cafe Royal, mainly chosen for its dog friendly inside seating. The food was excellent quality and service was great too. Very friendly staff. We came back for takeaway fish and chips last evening and were not disappointed. Very good quality fish and not too long a wait. You can't rush perfection after all. Still a week left in Annan so will definitely be back to sample chicken and steak pies!!! Keep up the great standards guys. A credit to Annan.

Great experience today; our first time eating here as we are just passing through - we were served by Abby who was very friendly and helpful. My partner had the large fish and chips (with extra vinegar) and I had the loaded fries with haggis. Delicious and good value.

Enjoyed a large haddock and chips supper with a side of (veggie) gravy. Perfectly cooked with crisp batter. Very popular when we visited with a decent queue, which is a good sign, but we were served quickly. You can also purchase a large range of ice cream too.

Second time I’ve had a fish supper from here - just as amazing as the first time! Never disappointed by this place, the fish and chips are so tasty and really good portion sizes for your money! Will be back again when visiting Castle Douglas.

Stayed in Southerness for 1 week and used the chippy 3 times. Beautiful fresh hot food (no old or stale chips). Cod was white and fluffy burgers juicy and tried my first battered pizza. Only fault it was closed 1 day in the week. (We all need a day off though). It can get busy so you may have to wait 10 mins or so. But worth the wait. 5 stars great value too.

We ordered a fish and chip super and a quarter pound burger and everything was cooked fresh while we waited. Definitely a 10/10 for what we ordered , tasty, freshly cooked and reasonably priced.

Food nicely cooked and served for me on holiday finding a good chippy like this is great. Keep it up. Well done.
