“Gentian Hill Pet Hotel provides care, happiness, and love for pets whose owners are having a little time away in the beautiful Devon countryside, which offers a feeling of freedom, fresh air, and gorgeous views. Gentian Hill Pet Hotel has a brand new, centrally heated, double-glazed, and fully insulated building with new luxury giant kennels. The dogs are let out for 3 exercise sessions daily, which they love. They play with the dogs using their favourite toys, such as frisbees, balls, and ropes. They encourage you to bring your dog's favourite items to help settle them in as quickly as possible.

2025 Update: Jane Cole is the owner of the kennel. All of their staff are trained in Animal First Aid and have qualifications in Animal Care.”

“Claire's Pet Care aims to give your dogs the one-to-one attention, love, and care they receive at home. They have a grooming parlour and washroom, ideal if your dog requires clipping, hand stripping, or a general tidy-up. Grooming can be done while boarding or when required by the owner. If you are going on holiday, visiting family, in hospital, or away at work, you need to know that your pet’s welfare comes first, with little disruption to their routine. They can visit your house for their daily needs, and they also have a small cattery in the garden.

GENTIAN HILL PET HOTEL REVIEWS

Gentian hill pet hotel has been a fantastic home from home for our boy. He's an XXL dog and they homed him in one of the biggest kennels. He had a paddock to roam free in and wasn't mixed with any other dog. Which wouldn't be a problem with him as he's friendly and socialised, however you don't want your dog being given a bad experience of meeting another dog when your not there. So this is fantastic for that. He was the happiest boy being dropped off and picked up. Smooth transition on both occasions. He will be returning many times going forward. They are fantastic!

Staff were really brilliant with our nervous rescue dog. Her medicines were all administered perfectly, along with a little something to make them palatable! The video and photos taken during her stay showed us that Tiggy was very relaxed and her usual bouncy self. Staff are exceptionally helpful and caring, and the kennels are kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Dogs have fun staying here.

I was so nervous leaving our dogs in kennels for the first time , especially as one is quite anxious! They have come back to us their usual happy and bouncy selves. I won’t be so worried next time, the only place I will trust with my fur babies. Thankyou all staff for taking such good care of them.

BARKING MAD PLYMOUTH REVIEWS

Parker has never been in kennels, so when we moved to Looe we had to find the best care for him when we are away. Parker has been with Barking Mad doggie hosts a number of times this past year and always comes back looking like he’s had a wonderful time. Donna and the team are friendly and welcoming and they give Parker the care and attention he needs. We are so pleased to have found the Barking Mad team. Thank you. D

This was the first time using this service for Lola, who as a rescue dog needed somewhere safe and welcoming to stay whilst we were on holiday. Donna was excellent at matching a family to Lola's needs and even when we needed to extend the stay at the last minute Donna was accommodating. Will definitely use Barking Mad again.

We have booked our Springador Luna with Donna at Barking Mad a number of times now and we couldn’t be more pleased. To know Luna is in a loving home environment makes us feel so much happier while we are away. We highly recommend.
