“West Hoe Park is the perfect place for your children to visit. The park features a large children's play area, crazy golf, trampolines, a miniature railway, a putting green, a merry-go-round, and a bouncy castle. West Hoe Park holds the Green Flag Award and is also an excellent destination to hang out with friends, have a picnic, enjoy beverages, and meet up with groups of all sizes. There is a beautiful secret garden with wooden climbing features dotted through the glade. Additional amusements include a free playground with swings, slides, and more. The playground features a wheelchair roundabout, a cone climber, an accessible swing seat, a dragonfly see-saw, and a multi-play unit. West Hoe Park hosts various concerts, festivals, and events.

“Freedom Fields Park has a Green Flag Award and offers some of the best panoramic views. The park is close to the Greenbank and Lipson areas and is around a 15-minute walk from the city centre. Freedom Fields Park features a climbing frame, ball court, sand play, tyre swings, and roundabouts. There is also a wildflower meadow with bluebells, daffodils, and snowdrops. Seating facilities are available throughout the park. Freedom Fields Park hosts various community events annually, fostering a significant sense of community.

2025 Update: Freedom Fields Park is open 24 hours a day and is free to use, and it also has public toilets that have disabled access.”

CENTRAL PARK REVIEWS

Nice park. Pretty big. Plenty of parking although often almost full. Lots of routes to take. Open Grass fields. Large wide paths in places. Varies to woodland. Hills which can be pretty steep. Has a cafe and toilets in middle. Life centre to one side for indoor sports facilities. Skate park. Couple of small new lakes/ponds. Could do with some more benches more evenly spaced, seem to be areas with lots and areas with none or very few.

If you are not familiar with it, the park is nicer and larger than you might think. The children's play area and cafe are lovely though currently closed during lockdown. Then there's all the sports and swimming facilities at the Kife Centre, again when it reopens.

Absolutely love Central Park it's a great park for the kids with the life centre very close by. Has a water feature for the kids at the park also. Beautiful on a crisp sunny day, toilets next to the park, along with food in the cafe.

How lovely to take the grandchildren into the free park. Had so much fun. Then a little treat on the trampoline, a play on the woodenboat and climbing frames on the green, followed by an ice cream. Fabulous views of the busy sea festooned with colourful dinghies, water boarders, canoeists, swimmers, and distant big ships near the breakwater. Sparkly water and fresh air. Lovely.

This is fab park, plenty of free rides but some of the best ones must be paid for so be prepared to spend a little, depending on number of kids. Rides include bungy trampolines, train rides, bumper boats, teacups, crazy golf, plus the usual swings, slides and stuff. Keeps the kids entertained for hours!

Amazing views, historical gem and places to eat, drink and public toilets available. A children's park and huge grass areas to enjoy. Golf and bowls available. Boat excursions ran from the area and places of interest to visit. Beautiful scenery and area I love.

FREEDOM FIELDS PARK REVIEWS

I really love this park. It's not too big yet perfect for evening walks. You meet lovely dogs and owners here. There are few benches to sit down too. Children can play in the playground or run around on the grass. There is a view towards the sea on the horizon which is visible during the warmer months.

Was great to see so many people here yesterday enjoying the good weather and the festival. Went back today because it was too busy for my daughter. Queues were too long yesterday, but wad much better today. We both enjoyed it.

It is a lovely park to sit for relaxation and a quiet time. Safe play ground for kids and animal friendly space. I actually enjoy the basket court where I play to relieve stress and exercise.
