2025 Update: At Smugglers Cott Restaurant, Visitors can spot two rare Luck Stones on the stairs leading down to the carving room. Dating back to the 16th century, Luck Stones were believed to bring good fortune and were usually placed near a cosy chair or the fireplace.”

What a treat. The whole evenings attention to detail was second to none. From our personal printed menus through to a follow-up email when I reached home. Warm and cosy restaurant with a glass screen on to the kitchen. The food was exquisite. Every mouthful a taste sensation. Each courses ingredients were explained to us and where they were sourced. The service and staff were impeccable. There is nothing I could fault from this evenings experience. And to end the night, we were given gift bags of tea and cookies. If you get the chance to experience here. It is very special and we are going to now try further Paul Ainsworth establishments.

Every dish was delicious and amazingly presented. The food here is creative, fun and exciting to eat. The flavour combinations are more unique than the average but still taste delightful and is highly enjoyable. The pigeon main was a stand out and we loved the snacks in between. The service was also really lovely! Highly recommend trying the restaurant but book many weeks ahead as it's a very small restaurant and it books out!

Amazing dining experience. Food was unbelievable and staff very knowledgeable friendly and very professional. Cannot wait to come back. Lots of lovely little touches ... cookies to go and a Spotify playlist of songs during our visit x.

This was a old and very cosy restaurant, you do need to book as it is not very large. We went here twice, the first time we had fish. Seabass fillet and plaice,it came with potatoes,chips and vegetables that you served yourself at the table, the second time we had steak this came with the same sides. For desserts we had,pannacota,cheesecake.

I persuaded our group to go here for dinner, mainly because I love history and I was fascinated by the fact it had wooden beams from the Spanish Armada in it. Although that was very interesting as was the history of the place, the best bit was the food, which was excellent. We all enjoyed the meal and atmosphere of the place. The staff were super friendly and I was hailed as a genius for choosing the place!

Food was so delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were spectacular. An absolute must.

Convenient location, wheelchair accessible with really helpful cheerful staff. Drinks served quickly and nicely done. Ordered food using really easy QR code. Absolutely lovely burger and fries, really tasty and well presented very prompt service. Met with a sizable work related group all accommodated and looked after well. Overall a great experience wish it was closer to home but I'm definitely bringing my wife here for a meal. Thanks for making our evening very special, T.

Lovely place everytime I've been it's been amazing. Very friendly staff very the food is omg amazing and well priced never fails to make our night magical thank you to all staff. Blooming magnificent.

As the 'Lounge' business, it is,very similar to my local so we knew that the food was going to be good. The service was great and the staff were friendly.
