“Holy Family Mossend is established to serve the community through religious services. The church celebrated its 150th Jubilee in 2018, reflecting its deep historical roots and its role in maintaining traditional worship practices for the local community. In 1881, to accommodate the rapidly growing population, the originally designated school building was extended to house 460 pupils. The growing community population also exceeded the capacity of Holy Family Mossend. In 1883, construction began on a new church building, designed by Messrs Pugin, due to inadequate space for church services. Construction of the new Holy Family Mossend building was completed in 1884, and it was officially opened for local worship and Mass.
