We first found 'A Different Dog' when we adopted Barney a six month old rescue pup back in December. He came with a variety of issues having started out on a puppy farm and was a very shy little chap, scared of his own shadow. We booked Dilnaz for a session initially to help us make him feel at home and to start things off on the right foot. She immediately made us feel at ease and gave us sensible, sound advice backed by science that really helped. He improved so much over the next couple of months that we were then able to take him to the teen training classes, something we would have thought impossible when we first got him. The teen classes were excellent too and built his confidence tremendously. He has continued to improve and we booked Dilnaz for some extra sessions to focus on loose lead walking and recall. The sessions have been invaluable, we have seen a big improvement in Barney's walking and recall. I would thoroughly recommend A Different Dog. Dilnaz has been gently encouraging and supportive and never judgemental. We feel much more confident and knowledgeable as a result of her training. Thank you Dilnaz!

It’s been a year since we started with Dilnaz and our adrenaline junky dog (+ our head case puppy) and I never thought we’d get to the stage where we can take peaceful, off-lead walks through a nature reserve together, but here we are. Dilnaz is patient, kind and knowledgable. She doesn’t just tell you what to do, she explains why and the science behind it, which helps us adjust in different situations. We knew that our problems wouldn’t be fixed overnight, or even after our 3 private sessions, but Dilnaz gave us the tools to continue training on our own and, following her guidance and methods, we finally got there, our dogs really and truly are different dogs now. I can’t recommend Dilnaz enough. Never once did she make us feel guilty or like we were doing anything wrong, she worked with us and our lifestyle to get us where we needed to be, using kind and non-aversive techniques. The dogs adore her, we adore her, thank you, Dilnaz!!

Our 3-month-old Labrador, Reggie, had a great time at the puppy class, and what we learnt was invaluable. Lisa is amazing - knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and super helpful, offering clear guidance and tips both at the class and through emails in between. Reggie had lots of fun and enjoyed the chance to socialise with other young dogs. Lisa’s communication was excellent, and she was always patient with both Reggie and us! Lisa's lessons are well planned and she explains the thinking behind the exercise. My pup really benefitted from working in a group situation. Highly recommended.
