Esther Milardi is simply outstanding. She recently designed and project-managed a new bathroom for us, and she has also managed some other work (interior and exterior) at our house. She brings to project a design flair, coupled with excellent taste. But she is always attentive and sensitive to the client’s functional needs and aesthetic preferences. We are absolutely delighted with our bathroom, which is exactly what we wanted (and more). Esther’s project-management is remarkable. She really is hands-on. She is there with the contractors, supervising, but not intruding. She has a calm authority that counts for much. She co-ordinates the work to perfection. I trust her implicitly and I recommend her whenever I can.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to provide a testimonial for Esther Milardi of DiOro Interiors, Cardiff. She was recommended to me by a close friend who had employed her for the refurbishment of their bathroom. Esther undertook the complete transformation of my guest room and also some work in my study area and the master bedroom. Esther is the fifth interior designer with whom I have worked and, in my experience, provides a uniquely professional service.

We used Louise's 'designer on call' service while we built our extension during lockdown. Despite never meeting in person, she understood our vision and thoughtfully guided us through each decision we asked for her advice on. It's safe to say she radically improved our kitchen design (which had been designed by a 'kitchen designer'). She responded quickly to emails when builders were pressuring us to make a decision so they could stay on schedule. With Louise's help we have a lovely paint scheme throughout and AMAZING fabric choices to complement. She helped us work with with our existing furniture and suggested ways we could refresh. Looking back I'm not sure how we could have done it without her guidance. Having Louise to 'call on' removed stress and provided a neutral professional opinion where my husband and I couldn't agree on a decision.

When we bought our house a year ago the long, narrow lounge was a cheerless, grey space. When Louise asked me what I wanted the design to achieve all I could think of was that I wanted to the room to 'glow'. I love warm colours, patterns and textures but never in a million years did I imagine it possible to combine all these 'asks' into one coherent design. Louise achieved all that and instinctively translated my rather vague ideas into such a vibrant and creative look. I enjoyed the whole participative process of chatting about colour, furniture styles and textiles and finding the knock-out wallpaper with its bold and exotic floral print was key. The clever lighting seems to draw out the gold etching in the wallpaper and, in the evening the room takes on a magical glow. We think of it as our 'jewel room'! We would never have been brave enough to go for such a bold design but absolutely delighted that we did!

Louise was such a joy to work with. We knew we wanted to combine colour, pattern and texture in our hallway and loft conversation, but Louise managed to bring it all to life so effortlessly. She was very patient and encouraged us to be brave in our design choices, which more than paid off. We’re thrilled with all the suggestions and are so pleased we were able to work with you, Louise!
