“Llantrisant Castle has been in ruins for many centuries, possibly since the early 1300s. When this part of Glamorgan was under English control, Llewellyn Bren significantly weakened the castle during his rebellion against Edward II. Llantrisant Castle's only a portion of the tower, and some outer wall sections remain standing. Llantrisant Castle is situated on a good elevation, commanding extensive views of the surrounding countryside. Parking is available on nearby residential streets. Entry is free.”

“Nantgarw China Works Museum conducts more than 350 workshops annually, including teaching, pottery, glass painting, botanical painting, and other crafts. Nantgarw China Works Museum features a 19th-century collection, including some of the most beautiful porcelain ever created in the UK by William Billingsley. LLANTRISANT CASTLE REVIEWS

Although the ruin is inaccessible, the rich history is complimented by the quaint and historic market town of Llantrisant. Llantrisant Castle apparently held King Edward II (Edward of Caernarfon) in its dungeons after capture at Pant y Brad. Enthralling history to discover.

Amazing historical feature of the old town of Llantrisant. Actually visited the castle on a ghost walk of the town which was very informative of the history of the castle and the working of the town through the ages. I would highly recommend going to see the castle and going on the ghost walk if possible.

Small castle with one remaining tower left standing. Worth a visit to Llantrisant guild Hall at the same time so check opening times before visiting.

NANTGARW CHINA WORKS MUSEUM REVIEWS

Nantgarw China Works is conveniently located on the 120 Caerphilly Pontypridd bus route with just a short walk up the hill. We thoroughly enjoyed our informative guided tour from Mike who is just one of the knowledgeable and pleasant volunteers at this charming little china works. The tour was free of charge and we spent some loose change on souvenirs and a spot of tea and cake in the quaint little tea room. We would highly recommend if you are looking for an hour out of the house to indulge in some Welsh history.

What a gem! Full of history about the not so well known china works & pottery from inception to end. Our tour guide Lisa was brilliant and well informed and made the visit. We saw the whole of the works from the history to modern use of the site. As a treat we had the Welsh Cream Tea afterwards and it was delicious. Scones with jam & cream, Bara Brith & Welsh Cakes. Recommend a visit.

A fabulous little museum to visit, especially if you love porcelain. We were warmly welcomed and given a guided tour by very friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. We had delicious light refreshments served on pretty china in a room previously used by William Billingsley to decorate porcelain. The Thomas Pardoe exhibition upstairs is a wonderful celebration of his work. A great visit, many thanks.

PONTYPRIDD LIBRARY REVIEWS

Love the new library in pontypridd. The staff are helpful and friendly. So much room even if it looks a bit tight on section with books for getting wheelchair through there is plenty of space in main area. Rooms for use by groups not sure if they charge but have done printing workshop here today They had events over summer for younger ages that were educational or fun music and story type. Has PC for community use as well. Building is beautiful with lots of windows and light.

I have only super positive's to say about this library, consistent respectful support/service...PATIENCE consistently afforded to all. Gosh golly I just visited the library saturday, previously before Pandemic raised its ugly head. I am impressed, its awesome, outstanding staff.

Fantastic layout and easy to locate your subject area. Staff are helpful as you have to ask for walking leaflets stored behind the desk. There is not much of a choice, but I was provided with a website that also has links to other useful sites. Thanks for your help guys.
