“Ynysangharad War Memorial Park has acres of space to explore, tennis courts, bowling, and an adventure playground with lots for all ages, from swings and roundabouts to a climbing frame. Ynysangharad War Memorial Park also has an acre of open space to explore. The park hosts family attractions like fairs, fun days, and parades. The beautiful boating lake has been painstakingly restored at the heart of the park. Ynysangharad War Memorial Park is home to the stunningly restored National Lido of Wales and Ponty Lido, which features swimming, a splash pool for the little ones, and inflatable slides and games. The park also offers several sports facilities and hosts various sporting events.

2025 Update: The park is located in the heart of Pontypridd and is less than half an hour from Cardiff and easy to reach by car, bus or train. The park's memorial consists of two parallel walls with the names of the dead inscribed onto black granite plaques that run along each wall.”

“Aberdare Park offers acres of space to explore and an Outdoor play zone with something for all ages. The park features an adventure playground, and you can bring your equipment and enjoy a game of tennis on the courts. There is a huge grassy area in the middle of the park that is perfect for picnics or outdoor games. Aberdare Park hosts various events, festivals, and motorcycle races. The park features swings and more. Aberdare Park also has an excellent café with very reasonable prices, where you can enjoy the spot and have unforgettable moments.

Beautiful park for all ages. There's a good size playground for kids and a cafe nearby to grab some food & some ice-cream. There's many other activities to do like go for a swim in the new pool or play cricket, basketball or a game of tennis,there's also a lovely little band stand and many beautiful area's to sit and have a picnic and enjoy the peacefulness of the park.

Attended this park for the first time when the National Eistedfodd was held there. It is like the tardis and has a lot to offer. Being close to the town it's great to explore while you have a picnic and make use of the fantastic lido. Lovely bandstand but it's a shame that the council do not make use of this and attract more people to the park.

Lovely park. The park is dog friendly and is a beautiful place to go and visit. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting here. The park has a wide range of facilities including the Lido (once allowed to open), restrooms, a children's play area, wide open spaces for picnics etc, a river and sports facilities.

ABERDARE PARK REVIEWS

I always enjoy visiting this park on my routine walks, it is a beautiful, clean and well maintained park. There are plenty of places to sit whilst you are there and they also provide restrooms and a cafe. I love seeing all the various plants and flowers around and also the lively nature in the trees and near the lake too. I bring my little dog here regularly and she just loves exploring this wonderful nature sanctuary. It gives you a wonderful sense of wellbeing and makes me very happy.

Absolutely fab park! The shop has a fantastic menu and the chips are proper good - ice cream well worth checking out too! Pedalos are £7 for about 30mins which was so much fun - view is well cool too! Then there's a whole range of birds to feed - everything from pigeons to ducks & ducklings to Canada Geese and Elder Ducks and I still haven't mentioned the park (swings slides etc), the splash pad and the squirrels and more! Get yourself up there!

Such a lovely surprise near to Aberdare town. A hidden gem suitable for all ages. A lovely cafe where you can grab a coffee. Lots of geese and other wildlife . Lovely rose garden and lots of different flora and fauna. Highly recommend this gorgeous park.

DARE VALLEY COUNTRY PARK REVIEWS

Lovely little council owned campsite great toilet block clean and modern, other facilities are excellent too such as chemicals toilet emptying and electrical posts. The site is adjacent to a cafe/ restaurant which again is well run and clean, opposite the cafe is a large play park which I'd very popular with the kids. On top of all this there is a lake 500m up the path and from there, there are long hikes available up and around the hills, all In all a very pleasant weekend or even a week if you like countryside walks. If you have a very large caravan or motorhome it can be a little frustrating and difficult negotiating the road upto the park entrance as the road is to all intense and purposes a single lane due to cars parked on the side of the road. But with a bit of patience, it will eventually be reached.

Lovely, quiet, clean caravan park. Spacious and clean shower and toilet facilities. Beautiful surroundings and pleasant walks. Close to local amenities and good road connections. Plenty for children to do at a nearby park and cycle track.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, lovely offerings in the cafe, good prices at the bike repair hut, amazing scenery - and fab trails!
