There are rides and games, arts, entertainment and great outdoor fun, all in the heart of Birmingham. The park has a fun park, golden putter, land train, swan lake boating, Mac Birmingham, a wildlife conservation park and sports facilities. Lickey Hills Country Park is one of Birmingham's most treasured and beautiful parks. It covers 524 acres and is situated 10 miles south-west of Birmingham. A park is an excellent place for family days out, for sport, school trips, to spot wildlife, or maybe just for the views and a cup of tea. The park has interesting geology which has created a variety of habitats. There are a free table-tennis table and a children's adventure playground near the Visitor Centre. Lickey Hills Country Park has grassy areas for kite flying and other games. The café serves light snacks, and there is good outdoor and indoor seating. The park has a tri-golf course close to the golf clubhouse. Tri-golf is a 'mini' version of golf designed for young kids."

Handsworth Park has over 63 acres of landscaped grass slopes, with mature trees, shrubs, flower beds, and plenty of wildlife. There is a boating lake, with rowing boats. The park has hosted a variety of both community and Council organised events from Vaisakhi with its massive processions to the Marcus Garvey Festival with entertainment and music. There are two play zones, both located near the Leisure Centre off the Holly Road entrance. Handsworth Park offers a broad range of activities and events such as practical conservation activities, nature walks, and general activities with community groups and plays centres."
