“Sandwell Valley Country Park has received a Green Flag Award. The leisure facilities include a pitch and putt golf course, a Millennium Cycle Route, a Mountain Bike Trail, tennis courts, and open spaces. The visitor centre is accommodating and worth checking out if you're new to the park. You can pick up a map and get tips on which parts to explore. There are also priory ruins with information boards, making them worth a wander around. The playground includes climbing nets, a rope bridge, an eight-metre-high tower with a slide, swings, a double zip wire, a dragon roundabout, a suspension bridge, a play tractor and a trailer. Sandwell Valley Country Park is open every day and is free to use.

2025 Update: Sandwell Valley Country Park offers accessible parking, accessible toilets, age-friendly facilities, baby-changing amenities, disabled accessibility, and wheelchair access. Orientation visits are available in the park.”

“Lightwoods Park and House offers a children's play area, a grade II bandstand, Shakespeare's garden, a multi-use games area, outdoor gym equipment, a skate park, and a tennis court. The garden is open to the public as a serene place to sit and enjoy. There is plenty of shade, seating spaces, and ample parking. Lightwoods Park and House is also an amazing venue for receptions, weddings, and other events. The park features a skateboard ramp and a bowling green. Lightwoods Park and House has children's facilities and many fields for adults to relax on. Fresh water for dogs is available, with tables near the grass and shade so everyone can sit comfortably.

2025 Update: Lightwoods Park and House is fully wheelchair accessible, and the park covers almost 12 hectares. They offer free parking.”

SANDWELL VALLEY COUNTRY PARK REVIEWS

We love this park. It's good for kids to play in. It's generally well kept. It has a nice car park which is payable most of the time but please check seasons and times before you pay. I love to talk a pleasant walk and having a nice quiet picnic is also most agreeable. I would recommend this park to families and couples. It has two table tennis areas and a basketball area. Also it has a workout area. You can hire bikes if you so choose.

Absolutely fantastic! Such good value for money, with plenty to see and do for children and adults. I love how open spaced the venue is, allowing movement and leisurely fun. Plenty of animals to see, but also natural spaces to explore and play. The sunflower field was a real treat! And the hot dog / food van was very reasonably priced with good quality options. We cannot wait to go back!

We had a lovely first visit with our daughter, it’s such a big park, so much to do and places to see. We had a walk around the rabbit village which was so much fun. The little houses were great and the park is superbly maintained and clean. We recommend visiting the tea rooms; friendly staff, great coffee and delicious cakes.

DARTMOUTH PARK REVIEWS

Lovely park near West Bromwich Town centre. Popular with kids and adults alike. Features a bike rental centre, car park, kids play area, small ponds and extensive green space.

This park is great for adults and children. They have a farm to visit and some great walks would highly recommend this park

Thank you to all the team at Lightwoods Park for making my daughter’s birthday amazing. From the booking through to the day it’s been very easy to book and the communication between me and lightwoods have been great. The gardens are magical and really beautiful . I and all our guests had a memorable beautiful day I would definitely recommend the marquee was stunning. The bathrooms were all easily accessible clean and the team were on hand to help with any requests Thank you to Anna, Laura and team.

Lovely park with good parking on nearby roads. Has a good playground for kids, with a huge climbing frame and recently added new apparatuses. Park is generally clean and not misused like other neighbouring parks. Skateboarding area is unique to the park and it is of a very good size. Adequate paths to go for a long walk or jog.

One of the best parks in sandwell for the children and teenagers bus station close by and 2 seconds from the high street the house is now open to the public for viewing. Skate park bandstand is being rebuilt massive open grass area for football a tennis court with fix steel netting basketball courts and a large adventure playground.
