THE BOTANIST REVIEWS
Having researched dog friendly places to visit during our stay in Chester, came across this place. Visited on a Thursday night and had dinner in the bar area which is dog friendly. Had a great acoustic guitar player providing entertainment, great atmosphere and the food was excellent. Opted for the sharing kebab which came with 3 hanging tiers of chicken, lamb and prawns. Could have done with extra bread but that was the only downside. Very ornate decor, perfectly in keeping with the Chester vibe. A must go to anyone visiting!
Can't believe I've not been here before! Such a quirky little place. Each member of staff were so welcoming upon arrival. Booking system was easy to use. The cocktails were amazing! And as for the food...WOW!! We had 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 hanging kebabs and a side of haloumi fries and the bill was just over £50. Great value for the quality of food!! We will definatly be visiting again. I also had a lovely surprise to have recieved a complimentary drink as my husband mentioned to one of the staff it was my birthday. Thanks Botanis.
Our 1st visit to Chester. Googled and found this little gem! Wonderful Sunday roast! The calamari is so soft and tender. Lovely peas and prosciutto soup! The dinner was just fantastic.

THE OLD HARKERS ARMS REVIEWS
What a lovely pub. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Location is about a ten minute walk from the Chester train station. And about 10 minutes from the town centre. Situated on the canal front. A dog friendly pub. It also serves food. I didn’t try the food. But looking at the plates that went passed me, I wish I did get food. It looked beautiful. A good reason to come back.
Lovely pub on the canal side. Great pit stop for a drink or something to eat. The staff are great and knowledgeable about the drinks they have available, and always able to make a suggestion for recommendations. Nice to sit outside if the weather is nice and overlook the canal.
Enjoyed a very late (8:50pm) meal here on Sunday night. Really happy they were still serving food that late. Food was great, service was excellent, the barman/manager came over to make sure my meal would be ok (I have intolerances/allergies). Lovely spot by the canal, menu seems to change regularly but had a great variety of both veggie and vegan options, and allergies all catered for.

THE ARCHITECT REVIEWS
Lovely welcoming and accommodating staff, everyone in the party thoroughly enjoyed their meals, even those with 'special' orders. While there were one or two items on the menu that weren't available, the staff informed us and offered similar replacement items. Vegetarian options: Only 1 vegan option on the roast menu, but it was lovely! Parking: If you struggle to get a spot by the Architect, there is The Castle car park and Roodee car parks within 5 min walk.
Been to a few establishments managed by Brunning & Price and this is one of the best. Is always busy though so make sure to book. Food and service were very good and atmosphere was buzzing but not too distracting. Might be different if full of drunk racegoers but that's only speculation not fact. Really enjoyed our meal!
Very good food in a lovely setting with a delightful ambience. Would definitely recommend. Remember to register your car in the pub for free parking!
