THE PETERBOAT REVIEWS
Had a lovely visit to the Peterboat, it has Bern a while and everything was amazing. Right from arriving the staff showed great attention to detail. We had Chicken wings for starters that came within 10 minutes of ordering. Our choices of Scampi & Chips and Sausages & Mash tasted great. You could even tell the peas were farm fresh. The Sausages and mash looked amazing and even got a few heads turning when it arrived . Our waitress Amelia was fantastic, I dined in some 5* plus places and her service manner was incredible. Well done young lady you a credit to the Peterboat.
Foods are good. We had chowder (claimed to be the best in the world) and Sunday roast. We didn’t book and arrived at 12 but they fitted us in and were really nice with our dog. By the time we left it was packed. The waiters and waitresses were very good.
The restaurant sat in their glazed external enclosed terrace area. Warm even on a 12C day and gave lovely views of the estuary outside. Staff were friendly and sufficiently attentive throughout. The food was tasty and of a good quality. Sizes were good as well. Top end pricing though but is worth that little extra.

THE ALEX REVIEWS
Just a short walk off the main high street you'll find one of the last traditional looking pubs left in Southend. That offer a variety of entertainment live bands upstairs and karaoke in the main bar on a Friday night. There is a out door beer garden with a pool table and there is live sport playing on a variety of TV screens around the pub. On arrival we were met with a nice door lady who ushers us in. Ordering drinks at the bar grazing the food menu. We asked the bar maid if the wings were good and she said she was vegetarian but the cauliflower wings were good. We ordered a sharing platter and a plate of cauliflower wings. The food was traditional fried food, but tasted great after a few drinks definitely enough for two.
Great atmosphere. Fantastic food and excellent range of drinks. Really enjoyed our afternoon here. Not the cheapest place around by any means but worth paying a bit more for a slightly nicer clientele and vibe. Dogs are welcome.
The service was great (I think it was a gentleman called Cal who was super helpful). He talked us through menu questions and was attentive throughout. One of us had allergy issues and they accommodated well. Food portions were decent and reasonably priced.

THE CROOKED BILLET REVIEWS
Nothing crooked about this fabulous establishment. A delight in the sunshine. The ambience takes some beating. Lovely vibe, terrific beer, friendly staff and punters. Loved it. A billet is a living quarters for soldiers. As a former schoolboy cadet I really should've carried on my military career. Damn, I could have lived here.
We went to see a band called The Targets, they were brilliant & the atmosphere was amazing. There were long queues for the bar but that is to be expected when it is such a lovely day. Even though the queue was long at times, they still served people very quickly. Great service, thanks for a lovely afternoon.
Great little pub! Located right opposite one of the best seafood counters. Great for summer, plenty of outdoor seating in the courtyard opposite. Seafood virtually on tap. The pub does great food options also.
