I was looking for a home from home while I visit my aunt nearby and this B & B fulfilled and exceeded my expectations.The house has a lovely decor and feel to it and the proprietor, guests etc. were friendly - freshly cooked breakfast was great and my room was very cosy and comfortable (and warm even in the freezing temperatures at the time!).There was great attention to detail and everything you could possible need to have the best breakfast!I am definitely planning on coming back.

I fell in love with this beautiful place from day one. It’s a lovely b&b. Caroline and her team are very friendly and keeping the charm of the „old“ building alive which makes me feel like „coming home“ with every stay. Thank you for having me and Bernie over.

I had a lovely stay, the room was gorgeous with the cutest little ensuite. It is a listed building so the ensuite was an added bonus. Caroline was so friendly and made a delicious breakfast. Highly recommend and will definitely come again.

Walking the Essex Way this was a perfect place to rest our weary feet. Claire made us feel immediately welcome providing very useful local info including the Digigo bus to get us to the nearest pub for supper (but we had to get a taxi back - it is a very sporadic service). Our room was very spacious and comfortable, at the rear of the house away from the road - we slept very soundly. A full English breakfast including porridge set us up for the next stage. We had lovely chats with Claire. Thank you again for looking after us both so well.

I spent 3 lovely nights at Acreland Green, I was greeted by the hosts Clare and John.......who are super friendly.....my room was superb, clean, comfortable and always attended to when was out.....Acreland Green is a gorgeous 400yr old house set in the Essex countryside. It was lovely to meet Clare and John, nothing was too much trouble and my breakfasts were spot on. I would like to thank them both for such a wonderful stay and I will be staying again in the future when i'm back in the UK.

I stayed for one night as part of walking the Essex Way, so the location was perfect for me as only a few 100m from the route. Lovely quiet location and managed to get DigiGo on demand minibus service into Great Waltham for dinner. Breakfast was superb, great value for money. Super friendly host also, room self-contained, clean and private with kettle and biscuits.

Amazing, rooms you cannot fault them, the bed was so comfy and the hospitality was lovely, breakfast was another bonus as there was so much choice; cereal to full English (cooked to perfection), yogurts&fruit. I would 110% come back and stay again.

Absolutely fantastic price backed up with fantastic service. Breakfast was really good and sue was lovely who runs it. I could not recommend this hotel enough for the value of £40 per night with a en suite aswell.

Spacious rooms, clean and organized. Great breakfast and the owner is lovely. I'm so happy I found the Chelmers Hotel and will be staying again.
