I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Toby Carvery in the George Roborough, and I must give a special shoutout to Ellie, who made our visit truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Ellie greeted us with a warm and friendly smile, making us feel right at home. Her attentive service throughout the meal was impeccable—she anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, and nothing was too much trouble for her. Ellie’s knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot-on, and she made sure our drinks were always topped up. What stood out the most was her genuine care for ensuring we had a great experience. It’s rare to find such dedicated and personable service, and Ellie’s efforts truly elevated our meal. The food was delicious, but it was Ellie’s outstanding service that made our visit unforgettable. We’ll definitely be returning and will be sure to ask for Ellie! Five stars without hesitation.

when we walked in we did not have a booking however Maisie still managed to find us a seat despite how busy they where. beth and shane’s service was fantastic even though they where clearly rushed of there feet. i thoroughly enjoyed my meal today with my sister. will 100% be coming back and will recommend to friends and family.

We arrived during a busy period and the host happily found us a table, the food was amazing, and the service was perfect! Shane and Bethany were friendly, sweet and very accommodating! Will be returning.

Haven’t been here since my university days 25 years ago! It brought back lots of happy memories. The service was excellent and we were very pleased to see they served Frobishers juices! There is also a great selection of other drinks. The venue is very clean (posh hand wash in the toilets!) with plenty of indoor and outside seating. Dogs are welcome and there is a water bowl for them outside. We only wanted a small breakfast as we already had lunch reservations, so asked if we could share the breakfast bap. They even cut it in half, secured it with a stick and gave us an extra plate. And it was absolutely delicious, they obviously use quality ingredients. When so many places are getting the service wrong, it was refreshing to be made to feel so welcome. Thanks to all the team!

We had a lovely evening here for a family meal with our children. Atmosphere was lovely, we enjoyed the live music during our visit although we know this isn’t on all the time. Millie was excellent and looked after everything we needed and was really kind to our children. My children would highly recommend the make your own sundae from the kids menu it’s fab I was jealous as an adult!

Wonderful service and food, Milly was outstanding and couldn’t do enough for us. Really made my Dad’s 75th Birthday celebration very special. Kid-friendliness: Good children menu.

Wow, what a suprise. Having been to a sister Cosy Club a few weeks previous, I wasn't expecting great things. How wrong was I. A great greeting, packed restaurant, great atmosphere, quick, efficient, friendly, helpful team, and the food was mighty fine. Well done, Plymouth Cosy team!!!! This place clearly has a winning team, and you are going to need to book. We were a table of 6 with one milk allergy and me (vegan). There are no issues at all and plenty of food to choose from. Our serving team was helpful with food choices and didn't drop a beat. We will go back. The milk stout is yummy. Try a bottle!! Well done again, Plymouth Cosy team. Pulled it out of the bag. #winners.

We went today for the first time for my husbands birthday lunch and loved it. The staff, decor and food were lovely. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I had the Spanish chicken and it tasted amazing. For dessert I had the lemon and raspberry semifreddo which I could honestly eat daily it was so good. Our server, Eve, was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again.

Always a reliable, hearty brunch spot. I recommend the Avant Garden Breakfast with scrambled eggs! Find myself returning here a few times a year.
